SetAnOpenCourse Posted October 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Can someone who has sailed RCCL to the Bahamas or Caribbean please compare the weekend vs. weekday shipboard atmosphere? I'm considering Majesty, Port Canaveral to the Bahamas, Monday through Friday or Friday through Monday. Also considering Brilliance, Tampa to Cozumel, Saturday through Thursday or Thursday through Monday. I'm leaning toward early December, but later in the month during holidays is a slight possibility. This would be my first cruise on RCCL (have sailed on HAL and Cunard). I look forward to discovering the activities offered, but what I really enjoy is time on the outdoor promenade, either with a book or walking a couple of miles. What might the main demographic group be? I'd like a mix, as long as the atmosphere leans toward the peaceful side. edit: After re-reading, I need to clarify that I'm looking for a comparison of a cruise that is mostly weekdays, vs. a cruise that is mostly weekend. Not the weekday atmosphere vs. the weekend on the same cruise, as it may sound in how I worded it above. Clarea Posted October 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2016 I'd go with the 4 or 5 day Brilliance cruise out of Tampa. Nicer ship and I prefer the Caribbean itinerary.

Totally agree, Brilliance is nicer, brighter. Open air dining for breakfast/lunch in Windjammer areas is nice. Haven't noticed a big difference in time of week crowds with short cruises, which all seem to have a younger, louder crowd. Rare island lady Posted October 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) We much preferred the Monday departure 4 night cruises on Monarch, then Enchantment, (Now Majesty) out of PC due to a tamer crowd. The 3 night leaving on Friday seemed to be mostly the weekend party crowd. The three night goes by so quickly, feels like you just unpacked...then your luggage is back out in the hallway!! Enjoyed the 5 night Brilliance out of Tampa also. :) Edited October 30, 2016 by island lady

Also, between Thanksgiving and Christmas there are fewer kids and more adults and senior citizens.

cb at sea Posted October 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2016 Weekend/short cruises are younger partiers. Weekdays/longer trips are a tad older....I wouldn't do anything shorter than a 5 day, unless I was within a 30 min drive to port.
