Day 1

We had a relatively easy drive down. I don’t do any of the driving, so every drive is easy! Our arrival time to the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas was around 4:30. My first impression was "Wow this place is huge!!". There was no one waiting in line to check in, so we went right up. We were checked in, then sent to another desk to receive our room cards. Well, the other desk is actually the timeshare presentation desk. We had the Starfriends Rate on our villa, so there was really no need for them to try to sell me a timeshare. I guess the guy was bored and wanted to practice his spiel on us so on it went. I politely declined the timeshare presentation, twice. Since we wanted shuttle tickets, we had to go to yet another desk. No problem. There were zero people here at this point. After all of the check in hullabaloo, we were off to find our Villa. You must use your room card to get through the security gate. Fancy!

Once inside the gate, we had to follow the map to locate our Villa. I really loved the space and the appliances. It makes it very easy to be comfortable for a few days.

Both of us unpacked, then went to check out the grounds, pool, and the marketplace. The marketplace was very well stocked, and I was impressed. W was hungry (shocker, I know), so he was rushing me out of the store, and I really didn't get a chance to browse the various baubles and trinkets like I wanted. There were lots of baubles and trinkets too! I vowed to come back and take my time looking around, but of course I never did (something I’m becoming notorious for).

At check in, we were handed a big envelope with all kinds of coupons and discounts. W loves a good deal, so he sifted through those and picked out the ones that interested him. He has his priorities in order! He loves food, but he loves it even more if he feels like he got a “deal”! We hung out there for a little bit planning our next move and really letting that "I'm on vacay" feeling sink in! You know that euphoria that comes when you have reached your destination and all is right with the world. It normally comes for me after my first cocktail, but this time it arrived early!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

31287459605_53639aba93.jpg

Then you remember that you forgot something (the story of my life!). It never fails that I always forget something of the utmost importance at the most inopportune time! Even though I have lists, back up lists, alarms, calendar alerts, and THE BINDER, I still manage to leave a necessary item. This time I forgot to have my prescription refilled. I had enough for about 4 days, and then I would turn into a goblin, which is not sexy at all!

In my defense, before we left home, I added an app to my phone that connects me to my doctor's office so that I can schedule appointments, request refills, view test results, and update my information, etc. The only problem was that I never used it. I added the app then pretty much forgot about it. So I logged into the app while W was looking at food possibilities (Don’t worry, I had plenty of time, he loves looking at food AND coupons). I sent the request to be added to my doctor's office and started the slow wait for the response.

UNO's was W's choice for dinner, and we made the short drive over. The restaurant was big, and there were not that many people there. Service was pretty quick, and best of all, there were lots of choices on the menu that contained CHEESE! Now I'm REALLY on vacation!!

30178052852_350e781005.jpg

I really wanted to go to Disney Springs to check it out, so W agreed to drive us over there. Again, it was a very short drive, maybe 10 minutes. We parked and I was absolutely giddy with delight as I took in all of the shops and wonderful smells coming from some of the food venues. We ducked in and out of stores looking for Christmas gifts for our 2 adults. We even sent pictures of some of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Star Wars” items that we found to our son and daughter because they love that stuff, plus we wanted to rub it in that we were at Disney. Without them. We're such amazing parents! Don't hate!

I wanted to purchase Magic Bands for us also, so I was on the hunt for them as well. I didn't see them until we were almost at the end of the strip, and I was so happy that I stopped in the little store. I paid $12 each and I was also given instructions on how to activate them on the Disney App when I got back to the hotel. I had pre-purchased our e-tickets online, and I was able to print them out before we left. The e-tickets have to be exchanged at the Transportation and Ticket Center for paper tickets, or you can purchase the Magic Bands and enter the code on the app which puts a "virtual ticket" on the bands. It's really cool because the tickets and bands are assigned to each person individually. Once you add the ticket to a band, it is non transferable, only that person can use it.

W forgot his Diet Coke (also known as his life) at home so we went to Winn Dixie because it was close by. We got back to the villa sorta late. We took out our clothes and got ready for the next day, which was also W’s birthday!

Before I fell asleep, I said a prayer thanking God for food coupons, because they make W a very happy camper!

Day 2- Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom

I woke up around 5 am, but decided to officially get up at 6. I was very excited! Since W would not be up for awhile, I watched TV. I could’ve gone to the gym, but where’s the fun in that?? There was a Disney World Channel on which featured the top attractions in the parks. It was nice to see some of the stuff that we would be doing later that day. I remembered that we had a cool coffee maker in the Villa with Starbucks Coffee, so I made some of that which really woke me up! I wanted to make sure that breakfast was ready when W got up, so I went ahead and made our waffles, eggs, and bacon as well. Breakfast Rocks!!

I couldn’t believe W was still asleep after all of the noise that I was making in the kitchen. I had to wake him up at 7:45. I guess all of that driving, looking for coupons, and eating wears a person out! As soon as he got up, I gave him his birthday presents to open up, because today was his day! Actually, this 15 minutes was his, the rest was all me!!

We took our time getting ready and eating breakfast because we would be running the rest of the day. After we were prepared and checked our lists twice, we walked down to meet the shuttle at 8:50. They were supposed to pick us up at 9 am. Well 9 am arrived but no shuttle. Hmmmm, we need to get to Magic Kingdom ASAP before all of the fun is gone! W called at 9:05 to check on the shuttle, which arrived at 9:10. Big Frown. Briefly. Very Briefly!

Me and the Birthday Boy on the Bus

30310770235_3e5a44eaf1.jpg

Our first Fastpass reservation was for 9:15-10:15 on Space Mountain, so we were a little pressed for time. When we got to the Transportation and Ticket Center, we jumped on the Monorail. We were super lucky to find the only Monorail with a baby crying the entire ride over to Magic Kingdom. Yay Us!!! Winning Already!!

After arriving at The Magic Kingdom, we went straight through security and to the gate. The Magic Bands are now my new best friends! No digging in your bag for your ticket. Just touch the band to the sensor until Mickey turns green then put your finger on the pad and you're in! Success! At this point W dubbed me the official “Travel Queen” and promised to never doubt my planning obsession again! Possibly. At least not today. .

Next we fought through the sea of people taking pictures in front of the castle. OMG where in the world did all of these people come from?? It’s the middle of October for goodness sake!! Aren't there pumpkin patches and hayrides somewhere calling their names??? Needless to say, there were way more people there than I expected.

After sprinting over to Space Mountain, we pretty much walked right up after they checked our Fastpass, Twice. I guess they want to make sure no one skips the line.

Our second destination was Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. The estimated Wait Time was around 20 minutes, which was really accurate. This was our son's favorite attraction back in the day because he was a huge Toy Story fan! It actually felt a little weird riding it without him. Just a little. Not enough for us to skip it though.

W enjoying his Adult Disney Day!

Me loving the fact that we were inside and cool!

30919357000_c9a1717794.jpg

A mandatory attraction for me is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. We checked the app for the Wait Time, which stated around 30 minutes, so we walked over there. The Wait Time was actually around 18 minutes, and we were not mad about that!

Me and Pooh

30919345460_01d442ef39.jpg

Soon it was time for our next Fastpass, which was Mickey's Philharmagic. Wow what a show! I really liked it!! Warning:All sorts of Disney Songs will be stuck in your head for weeks after seeing this show! That’s not necessarily a bad thing.

It was nice not having to rush anywhere, so we really took our time going to our favorite spots: The Hall of Presidents, Pirates of the Caribbean, and It’s A Small World. During It’s A Small World, I started feeling a little sentimental and missing our adults, so I snapped a few pics and sent them texts of how much we wish they were with us. Sorta. We didn’t miss hearing “I’m hot, cold, hungry, wet, dry, thirsty, tired, bored, sleepy, scared, etc etc etc” tho!

The Haunted Mansion was our next attraction. There was a family with a small boy by us who screamed THE. ENTIRE.TIME.!! Ummmmm this is NOT an attraction for young children who may be frightened of the dark, thunder, lightening, ghosts, and the voice of a creepy guy narrating! I really felt bad for the kid because his parents did not think that he should be taken outside. Why?????

The app suggested Ariel’s Under the Sea Adventure next so we headed over there. The posted Wait Time was 50 minutes, but we only waited 10 minutes. Sweet! We really loved this attraction, and were glad that we went.

Day 2~Part 2

That concluded everything that we HAD to do at Magic Kingdom, so we started the trek over to Animal Kingdom. While we were walking back to the main gate, we caught a parade, and paused to take pictures in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

To get to Animal Kingdom, we took a Disney bus. While we were waiting for the bus, we decided that we were not going to make it to meet our resort’s free shuttle by 6 pm, so we would need to take an UBER back. Now we have NEVER used UBER, but I read in reviews that it was very easy to do from Disney. Our adults do it all of the time when they travel, and they rave about it, so I was pretty sure we could figure it out. I downloaded the app right there, setup my account, and I was ready to schedule my first ride before we reached Animal Kingdom! Gotta love technology!! And reviews! And having kids who turn into adults!

We passed through security and the gate, which was extremely easy with the Magic Bands. It’s sacrilegious to not pause for pictures in front of The Tree of Life, so we paid our respects!

There were really only 2 attractions that we wanted to do in Animal Kingdom:Kilimanjaro Safaris and Expedition Everest. The rest was really just walking around and taking in the beauty of the park.

Day 2~Part 3

Kilimanjaro Safaris was a little bit of a wait at 40 minutes. It wasn't terrible because it was only around 75 degrees out. The Safari is still very beautiful and I am always in awe during the whole ride. It feels like I have left Disney World, and somehow landed in a remote jungle!

Day 2~Part 4

Expedition Everest was lots of fun again also. The Wait Time was posted at 45 minutes, but was really about 30. We learned to just go to the attraction even if the posted Wait Times were high, because the actual wait was usually a lot less than the estimate.

After we were done walking around Animal Kingdom, we took a bus over to Epcot because it was cheaper to get an UBER from there ($8). Yes, we are catching on to this UBER thing fast!

Our driver arrived and his car was a new SUV. It was nice and clean. He said ZERO words to us until we reached the Resort, which was ok. Weird, but ok. We handed him the card to swipe at the gate, he let us out by our Villa and that was a wrap! Easy Peasy!

When we got back to the Villa, I thought we should go over to the pool because we may not get another chance before Saturday. Nope! Today was NOT the day for that!! The pool was FREEZING!!! There was a slight wind and chill in the air. This was October after all. Even in Florida! Darn! Who knew??

Remember my prescription issue from earlier? Well my crisis was soon averted because my doctor’s office was able to send my refill to a Walgreens right by our resort! It was a good time for us to go since the pool didn’t work out, so we jumped in the car and took the short ride there. Well, as luck would have it, we went to the wrong Walgreens. I'm sure it was somehow W's fault, but I didn't point it out since it was technically still his birthday and all!

The pharmacist was very nice, she said that she would take care of my prescription there and not make us drive to the other one. Thanks to her, I would NOT be turning into a goblin! On this trip.

W wanted LoneStar for dinner(one of the coupons), so that’s where we went. The service was less than stellar there and I really do not recommend it. Our waitress forgot one of our appetizers and the food was just ok. On top of all of that I practically froze the entire time! Even with my sweater on, I was still very cold. The air was blasting right over our heads. Do we really NEED that much air? In October?

After we got outside and I thawed out, I wanted to go ahead and get my bottle of wine for the cruise, so we found a wine shop. When I got up to the register the cashier looked at my paper “shady” Drivers License and said “Did you make a copy of your license on this paper?” Huh??? Excuse me sir? Why in the name of all that is good and chocolate would I do that????? I simply stated “No, it’s a temporary license”. He shrugged then scanned it and said “Oh ok!”. Eye roll.

Back at the Villa, we got ready for the next day at the parks. Before I fell asleep I said a prayer thanking God that our “shady” paper Drivers Licenses were only temporary! Who needs that kind of scrutiny and negativity permanently?

Day 3~Hollywood Studios and Epcot

We woke up around 7:30 so that we would have time to eat and not rush getting ready. We were super excited for this day because we were going to experience the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. All of the planets must've been aligned perfectly too because we actually got ready with a few minutes to spare! Imagine that!!! Miracles do still happen on vacay!! Since we were dressed and well fed, we decided to go over to the pool area to take a few pictures before meeting the shuttle at 9 am.

Me waiting for the shuttle

29696347324_7f8f89d8a4.jpg

Our bus was on time this morning, and more people were waiting to board than yesterday. The bus driver stated several times that she was a "substitute" driver, and this was not her regular route, however people kept asking her questions about the parks just like she didn't say that. W actually made sure to tip her because she remained calm when she had to keep repeating instructions and rules to some of the riders who thought that the rules were for "everyone else". It was a little funny to watch her because I know on the inside she had to be rolling her eyes and slapping her forehead! Bless her heart! As W was almost off of the bus, someone hands him his wallet. He had left it on the seat! OMG that was a close one! I gave him a "side eye" and made a mental note to check after him the rest of the trip. He can no longer be trusted!

This bus took us to the Transportation and Ticket Center just like yesterday, but instead of taking the Monorail, we took the ferry over. Don't be in a hurry when you take the ferry because it is an Extremely. Slow. Process. The load capacity on those things is huge, so you will wait until it fills up. I noticed that it was great if you had a stroller, because you just roll it on, and there's plenty of room for everyone. It's kind of a lengthy ride too as the ferry moves slower than the Monorail. It was nice to look out over the water and get another view of Magic Kingdom.

Day 3~Part 2

Once we left the ferry, we took the Disney bus to Hollywood Studios. It took around one hour and 15 minutes to get to Hollywood Studios from the time that we left the Villa. We were actually good with that today, as it was a more leisurely paced day. Our first stop after the gate and bag check was the Tower of Terror. We waited here for 55 minutes. This is one of those attractions that never gets old for us. I look forward to it every time. Until I am on it. Waiting to be dropped!!! Then I'm wondering "What in the world was I thinking??? Have I gone completely nuts???? Why is this entertaining??"

Since the last time we visited, we noticed that there were some nice changes to the drops, so I was caught off guard several times. It's all good though because I was screaming to the blue corn moon like a girl at the top of my lungs, but there were a few men who were out-screaming me!! (W included, but don't tell him I told you!!)

29696011334_9fa60eff87.jpg

31251119886_3621947146.jpg

After all of that excitement, we went over to Aerosmith's Rock 'n' Rollercoaster. The posted Wait Time was 70 minutes. Since W isn't the most patient person in the world, we asked about doing it as single riders. There was no one waiting in the single rider line, so we did it. We only waited 12 minutes! This felt really close to winning the lottery! W ended up in the car before mine so he waited for about 5 minutes for me after his ride ended. If you are able to take advantage of the single rider line, do it! It was very much worth it! W even suggested going back and doing it again, but I was good to get to the next attraction! We still have lots of park to visit!

It started to drizzle but we had to keep it moving so we went over to The Path of a Jedi, which was covered outside. I really didn't know what to expect, so I wasn't disappointed when it was basically a very long trailer for ALL of the Star Wars movies. We only waited around 10 minutes for it, so we didn't lose much time. This would be a good rest break if there are little ones (or big ones) in your group who need to take a chill pill. I saw several adults napping along with the kids. Several.

Since Star Tours was close by, we walked down to it after the show. There was a 45 minute wait, which really wasn't bad as it moved fairly quickly. We liked the new and improved Star Tours a lot. You really feel like you are zipping around the galaxy! The addition of the newer characters is also a plus. It is still relevant.

One thing that I forgot to mention, was that filling these drink bottles with ice in the morning and taking a few bottles of water a piece really was a lifesaver! At the end of each day, we still had ice in our bottles, and this really kept us cool and hydrated. We bring them on the ship with us also, and they work great there too!

30029543940_7b8f5d6252.jpg

Disney will allow you to bring water and snacks into the Parks, and we took full advantage of this! We each had a couple of "to go" snack cups of OREO's and Cheez Its in our backpacks. I don't know about you guys, but our vacations are for snacking!

We wrapped up Hollywood Studios by walking around a little and doing some shopping. W was looking for a Boba Fett T Shirt for our son (I still don't know why), and we found some great choices towards the front of the park. We were going to hang around for the next parade, but we needed to get to Epcot for our FastPass. Now you have the ability to schedule 2 FastPasses per day ahead of time when you register your ticket in the app. Since I purchased everything through Disney, our info was all loaded and ready to go. After selecting and confirming the FastPass, it would also be loaded to your Magic Band if you had one. Using the Magic Band with the FastPass was very similar to entering at the Gate. Just touch your Magic Band to the Mickey head sensor until it turns green, and voila! You can also view your FastPass times/schedules on the app throughout the day. Another neat feature of the app was that it "tracked" you, so when you open it in the Parks, that Park's map came up showing where you were and everything around you. Technology today really amazes and scares me! It's both cool and creepy at the same time to know that your whereabouts and movements were being recorded somewhere. I hope "Big Brother' didn't see me almost trip and fall over my own 2 feet while I was there, because that was very embarrassing! Making a mental note to always watch where I am going so that I am not the subject of a "Funniest Park Video" gif!

I coordinated Minnie's dress on my Apple Watch to match my MagicBand

Day 3~Part 3

Over at Epcot, the Food and Wine Festival was going on in full swing, so it was a little more crowded than the other Parks. It wasn’t like the summertime hordes and droves of people, where you can barely move, but more than we had seen so far.

31143406462_1f225015d6.jpg

31143399212_d3a10bc3d0.jpg

Now remember we have been texting our adults this entire time telling them about our different adventures so far? Well at this VERY point is where our adult daughter FINALLY realizes that we are texting her from Disney World! Where in the heck did she think we were all of this time????? That reminds me, I need to ask her about that!!! Anywho, she sees the pictures that I post on FB of us in front of Epcot, finally gets a clue, then proceeds to start begging for wine. She wants a very specific wine but she does not know what it is called or ANYTHING about it! She just knows that friends of hers have had it, you can get it at Epcot (maybe), and it is delicious. Ok……..So I do the most logical thing, and ask her to find out what it's called! To this she replied that she would ask, and I reminded her that this was our last day at Disney and we would be on a ship heading to the Caribbean tomorrow. She promises to get back to me shortly. Nobody hold your breath.

We went to Spaceship Earth first, as it is normally a pretty quick loader. We waited around 20 minutes for it, and I think it was because it kept getting stuck. At least that's what happened when we were on it. This is another attraction that has been updated, but not enough IMO to make it still relevant. If you go to Epcot and you miss it, no harm will come to your eyebrows or elbows!

Once we got back to the different countries in the World Showcase, it was easy to see why it was so popular! There were lots of stands where you could get an appetizer of different types of food from each country. Yoga Pants here I come!!! I may not be able to button anything for weeks after this!! I can't even begin to describe the delicious smells that were wafting from each stand! I wasn't ready. My mouth is still watering, and I think I just gained 5 pounds from thinking about it!

W wanted pizza, so of course we walked all the way to Italy in the back. In.The.Very.Back! When we got there, the pizza restaurant was a little crowded, but we were told that the wait would only be about 15-20 minutes. We decided to wait, because I would surely have perished if we went on another long hike somewhere! The wait time was actually not much more than 10 minutes, and we were happy that we stayed! It was so worth it too because that pizza was sent directly from heaven! It was kissed by newborn angels!! So delicious and perfectly full of warm cheese and very tasty pepperoni! It was EVERYTHING ya'll!!!

Pizza Ovens

29696011524_5935b35751.jpg

Unfortunately during our pizza feast, we missed our FastPass for "Living with the Land", but I was able to reschedule it. We were now within the window to catch our "Soarin" FastPass, so we walked over the The Land. Ummmm it was a LONG walk too!!! I know at this point I have burned off every single calorie that I have EVER eaten right??? Isn't that a feature of the Park Hopper Pass? If not, it should be! After "Soarin", we sat down for a few minutes until it was time for "Living with the Land". We really didn't need a FastPass for it, as it was not crowded. It was actually quite interesting to see all of the plants and different growing methods that they were experimenting with. There was also lots of information provided on how they utilize the fruits and vegetables that they grow right there in the Parks. Now I'm not saying that your 5 year old would be squealing with delight about riding that slow boat and hearing all of this "information", but it's worth going if they are ready for a nap. Or if you are.

Oh Canada was not too far of a walk or wait, so we jumped back into the fray and made our way back there. W was really happy that I suggested this attraction, and he thoroughly loved watching the Panoramic Screens. Side Note: If you are prone to vertigo or motion sickness, skip it! Looking up at those screens which are constantly moving can make you nauseous. Don't ask how I know! Just trust me!

Me in front of Oh Canada!

30479918323_1c7dd63656.jpg

We were ready to go after Oh Canada, so we headed over to Disney Springs via Disney bus, because the UBER from there was only $6. We were also giving our daughter more time to find out about the wine, because as of yet she still had no information. Not surprising.

Day 3~Part 4

At Disney Springs, we did the Coke tasting at The Coca-Cola Rooftop Beverage Bar, which was really interesting. They give you a card listing the different flavors that you are trying. Some of them were good, some of them were disgusting. The facial expressions that we made were hilarious when we got a bad one! W would try to keep a poker face so I wouldn't chicken out of trying it, then when I did; he would burst out laughing at me gagging! It sure doesn't take much to entertain us!

30301166196_d54c990f94.jpg

I really wanted some butter pecan ice cream (that I could’ve gotten free on The Magic) so we hunted down a Haagen-Dazs and I ordered a scoop in a cup. When the server said it was $9, I thought I heard her wrong! Ahem. Lady do you know how much ice cream I can buy for $9???? That's outrageous! I would like to say that I told her "never mind, that's crazy talk" and walked away, but I wanted that ice cream bad. So I paid for it quickly and didn't tell W! I know that my CC fam won't tell him either. Right?

After my very expensive ice cream run, we went in different stores shopping for stuff to bring back for friends and family. Since I never heard back from our daughter, we went to Mickey’s Pantry where they have a few different wines, and bought her a couple bottles of “Once Upon A Vine”. There were a few different flavors, and I liked the labels. I got up to the counter, handed over my “shady” paper Drivers License. The Cast Member looked at it, and turned it over a couple of times. She asked me what it was, and I told her it is a temporary license because I just had it renewed, and they will send me the permanent card in the mail. She shrugged, said “sounds legit”, and finished ringing up my purchases. I am now extremely happy that W and I have passports for our cruise!

When our shopping was done, we signed in to the app to get an UBER back to our resort. The app directed us to the pickup lot which was all the way at the other end of the complex! Yay more walking!! We waited until we got over there before we submitted the request for the Uber, because it took us awhile to get there. Gloria, our driver called as soon as I placed the order and asked if we were in the Strawberry Lot. Wow she’s efficient! I said “yes” and she came in about 5 minutes. She was very very nice, and she talked the entire time! She brought us all the way into our resort and to our villa, which was nice because it's a big resort.

After we got back into the Villa I could hardly keep my eyes open, but before I fell asleep I said a prayer thanking God that I remembered to pack my Spanx!

Just another day at Disney

Omg I cannot wait for you to go on another cruise and come back and write a review. Just so you know I really don't like Disney but I had to come back so I could read your bedtime prayers. I love them!

Awesome review! I remember your first one, loved it too! The Magic is our favorite ship, the cove balconies are our favorite type of room, and Dr. E is our favorite CD ever! (And lets be honest, he's pretty easy on the eyes. LOL) My hubby and I cruised the Splendor out of Miami in April, and we spent 3 days at Disney beforehand as well! Girl, please cruise more so you can keep writing these reviews. :D:D:D

I thoroughly enjoyed your reviews of the Magic! We will be on the Magic 12/31 for the first time on that ship. Best written review I've ever read! I even wrote down the name of the wine as Moscato is one of my favs!

Thanks again! Happy New Year!

I really enjoyed your review. It is one of the best ones I've read so far. Still debating on whether or not to go on the magic next year. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the review.
