russandcheryl Posted December 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2016 Question - We booked 5 cabins for our family. My DH and I split up into 2 cabins to get the better rate for both cabins. I know we can get our cards changed after we board, but was wondering if we could purchase the Cheers for DH as he is the only adult in his cabin (for now) with our grandson and then I dont Have to. Or will they want me to purchase it when we change cards?? Hope this makes sense ...
poz222 Posted December 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2016 Yes, he can purchase. When you "switch" it will not technically be a switch, you will just get separate cabin keys for each other's cabin. He will qualify to purchase cheers himself. dna529 Posted December 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2016 We are doing this also. It should not be a problem. Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app
cruizinisthebest Posted December 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2016 My husband and I have done this twice. Had nothing to do with wanting a better rate for one or the other. We did it, because he drinks very little and I drink alot more. lol. Booked two rooms with one child in each. I got Cheers. He didn't. We didn't bother switching rooms or anything once onboard. We simply asked for extra key-only cards. Worked perfectly.

joepeka Posted December 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) So did you have to carry 2 sign and sail cards ? I see the person you asked this question of is offline so I will answer: yes, in a word. Except only one of them is an actual sign and sail card, the other will only open the door of the other cabin so if there's a need to routinely go into the other cabin, you would need to carry both cards. cruizinisthebest Posted December 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2016 So did you have to carry 2 sign and sail cards ? Yes. All of us had 2. I went to guest services and asked for key-only cards. Then I sorted it out upstairs myself. We kept them on our lanyards. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Bob NC Posted December 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2016 How come every time there is post about carrying 2 S & S cards around, someone makes it sound like hauling 2 credit cards around is the equivalent of lugging around 2 cinder blocks? mjhouse2 Posted December 3, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 3, 2016 I was just wondering about cheers for 1 too. So glad someone asked. I remember reading about it in a thread but couldn't seem to find the answer when I searched, clearly I'm not tech friendly lol. My DH and I booked this way too and wanted to get cheers for just one but was worried they would make the other buy it when we switch. Thanks everyone for your replies and Happy cruising. I had heard they would giv you new s n s card .... It's ok for me ... 2 cards but hoping grandson could just get one ... Less to lose ! For the savings on room rate and only 1 cheers package ... 2 cards .. No prob 😉
