SeasTheDay12 Posted December 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2016 I am hoping someone knows about the corner aft balcony on Brilliance ( or same class)? I found lots of pictures online and it 'seems" the corner aft wraps to the side? Doesn't look like any chair or stool would fit, just a standing view? Any help much appreciated! Love those stern views! Happy New Year hopefully cruising! Debra Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
SilkySal Posted December 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Check this thread out: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1243860 Once there, do a search for "Brilliance" on that thread and it will narrow your search down to that ship.;)

Debra Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app What deck are you looking at? JS 1100 on deck 10 has more room on the wrap. 9256 on deck nine, you can wiggle out there, but when you get down to 8 or 7...not much of a wrap at all, since the ship narrows down with each deck. Still nice cabins and huge balcony. We enjoyed 9256 on identical sister Radiance for our B2B in Alaska. Best way to see both sides of the inland waterway. Could have snagged 9256 on Serenade next month, but too much ocean swells on that trip down to Aruba..lots of tail bobbing and noise back there during rough seas. Beachammo Posted December 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2016 9256 is our favorite standard balcony cabin on Radiance class. Sometimes we spend a little extra to get 1100 or 1602.

Just checked out of Serenade cabin 9256 last Friday, wasn't too bad. Did B2B2B2B starting on the Boston-Ft Lauderdale repo Oct 30th. Have done 12 aft cabins Serenade/Brilliance last 3 yrs, only time really felt lot bobbing was out of Boston to FLL repo. I took some cool videos. Noise wise hear more on 10 in am from Windjammer or on 7 the clubs below in evening. To me aft is worth it!

We had really bad sea swells on our long stretch from Ft. Lauderdale to Aruba once, and boy did the DH lose function on the way down in #9256. Way too much bobbing up and down for him. For those long sea runs we do center hump cabin now. You two must have some good sea legs! :)

He does not get "urrpy" sick, but has an inner ear problem and can't stabilize. Loses all ability to talk, walk, concentrate...it's no fun having him like that....sigh. Sooo...calm seas for my favorite aft cabins for us. Edited December 30, 2016 by island lady
BlueSkySailing Posted December 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted December 30, 2016 We just did #8668 family suite on Brilliance. Our balcony did have a slight wrap a round. I wasn't able to look down the side if the ship. I hope this help. Happy sailing!!!!

George C Posted December 30, 2016 #14 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Another thing about aft on Brilliance is you do lots of walking since you are far from stairs and elevators
Rare island lady Posted December 30, 2016 #15 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Very lucky..... Neither of us has ever felt the effects of sea sickness. I've been bringing patches with us since our first cruise though. The only time I ever got sick was on my first cruise. Seas were a tad rough, but I had my patch on. About two days into the cruise, I had dry mouth, felt dizzy, had a headache...just felt awful. Took the patch off and was fine the rest of the cruise. Go figure. Guess I can't take that med, never wore them again and never got sea sick on any cruise after that. Very lucky indeed also. Patches don't help the DH with his inner ear thing either. Weird how we are all so different.

Ahh...so you ARE some of the lucky ones! :D I think we have sea water in our veins or something. ;) Hopefully you never need it. It sure messed me up, but I know of many others that use them with no problems.
