Unlimited Stateroom Calls

On our upcoming cruise on the Breakaway I received the Norwegian Select Promotion that includes "unlimited stateroom calls". Does anyone know if there are any restrictions and if you can call cellphones. Does the receiving party get any charges?

Call are from your stateroom phone with no restrictions. Cell phone calls will be charged by your carrier at your international rates (AT&T charges $2.99 per minute).

Sailing on the Gem on the 27th and was wondering if anyone could share their experience regarding the stateroom phone calls. How was reception? (both at sea & in port)

 

Also, I seem to recall what looked like an Ethernet port on the desk last time I was in an aft suite. I didn't try to use it because I had WiFi which worked great for my laptop, but was wondering if that is connected to the stateroom phone line. Anybody know?

A word of advice.....

 

Before you go make sure that the Norwegian Selects package is actually on your reservation before you leave.

 

I got off the Breakaway last week. Was supposed to have the package with the phone calls, internet, pictures and casino play. When I got on board I found out that I didn't have it, even though it was clearly stated on my confirmation that I was supposed to.

 

So, to avoid any disappointment and lots of aggravation, maybe call and check that it is still on their before you go.

I had the unlimited phone calls, and found $100 worth of calls on my bill. I went to guest services, and the charges were removed.

The quality was mostly good, but I noticed a 2 second "delay" when we were out at sea.

For me, it was great.

Thanks for the heads up. We always think just because we have a confirmation that it will be honored. Apparently that is not so. Hope you get a resolution that will make it up to you.
