A bit off topic but.............

Anyone know why I was able to "upgrade" myself from a mini on the CB to a window suite when one popped up way after final payment, AND get the fare difference refunded back to my credit card? They were offering the window suite (with full perks) for less than I paid for my mini located aft near the laundry room. Now mind you it's the first one, and it's a bit smaller than the other 6 but still..................

So was I upgraded or downgraded.............???

Just asking, but boy am I HAPPY!!

My TA ROCKS !!

Doesn't matter which. As long as you are happy!

They were probably able to resell your mini-suite for more money, as they are in high demand for Caribbean routes. We had a window suite last year on the CB and loved it.

Dickinson, smoke smell from????

On the Grand Princess the hallway by the window suites leads to the casino where smoking is allowed.

But on the CB which these posts have been about, the casino is on a different deck so there would be no smoke.

On the Caribbean Princess the cigar bar is (or was in 2013) right across the hall from that door so that is why it needs to be kept close. In August 2013 we were in a window suite in the middle of the row and had no problem with cigar/cigarette odors in the suite - the only issue was that muster for the window suites was in the alcove right outside the cigar bar. Even the lingering smell was very bothersome. Maybe Princess has changed the muster location since then or maybe it was a one time thing?

I was referring to Churchill lounge which is a cigar bar. It is located just beyond your cabin. If the door to the hallway is closed you should be fine. If it is open then ask someone to close it. We couldn't figure out how to close it but a steward showed us so we could close it ourselves when it was left open.
