CanWeGoYet? Posted March 8, 2017 #151 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Where do i find a wind tunnel door? I heard about it on the Liberty, don't know if all the ships have one? Here is a thread with a location, another poster said there is one on every deck that has cabins all the way forward. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj7x7ubhcbSAhXrjlQKHQ96AHkQFggaMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fboards.cruisecritic.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D1490073&usg=AFQjCNFRWTL1AVNZIYcKYz9aXixSGy9E7A

dawnjam1 Posted March 8, 2017 #154 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Does anyone know if Carnival has pre-packaged pb&j's? Not that I have ever seen. Also....baggies of all sizes and a few trash bags take up no space and I use them for wet stuff on the way home. Also, we have ordered room service in the past and taken sandwiches with us to the beach in baggies. When the kids were small it was whatever worked! kayinusa Posted March 8, 2017 #155 Share Posted March 8, 2017 I learned very quickly on our first cruise not to let my compliant husband go alone to get his hair cut and then be "up-selled" to a $95 beard trim !!! - I was sitting outside reading a magazine. My husband emerged with his hair neatly cut and a young girl (unaware I was behind her) leaning in way too close and batting the eyes at him and handing him an appointment card for the following day. I checked at the counter of the salon and they informed me this was going to cost $95 (not including tips) and we were NOT able to cancel without 100% penalty as it was within 24 hours. I asked for the manager, told her I didn't appreciate seeing a 19 year old "hustling" my husband for extra commission. She immediately apologized and canceled the appointment (the speed she did this and the fact she did not even question what I had said to her spoke volumes It told me this had happened before but if no one complained then it was all good and making them all a lot of extra cash) This was our first ever cruise and yes my husbands a good humored middle aged guy who only wanted his hair trimmed and didn't want to upset anyone. I can't even let him answer the phone to telemarketers folks !! My husband is a country boy but I was born in a large European city and worked in hospitality for years. Honest "up selling " is one thing, blatant "hustling" is another. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Geebee8 Posted March 8, 2017 #156 Share Posted March 8, 2017 The nightstands make for great extra storage! It took us a few cruises to figure out that the doors open! We keep pajamas in one and whatever t-shirts, etc. that we purchase in the other.

He can't figure out why he has so many telemarketers calling his phone (after he signs up for every contest). He is so easily talked into anything, just because he is a nice guy. Me? Not so much! I am a city girl and read through the BS right away.

crusinpsychRN Posted March 8, 2017 #159 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Have your children call you by your name instead of mom or dad when searching for you or 30 people will turn to see who is calling them.
lisagro Posted March 8, 2017 #160 Share Posted March 8, 2017 FTTF is Carnivals acronym for it. Carnival calls it FTTF which is why everyone here calls it that. See https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1374/~/faster-to-the-fun-(fttf) This is my 10th cruise coming up (6th on Carnival), and I wish I had known that, even though I booked in February for a cruise in December, FTTF was already sold out :(
Lisha22 Posted March 8, 2017 #161 Share Posted March 8, 2017 I have not seen that mentioned ... but for any new cruisers ... sticky notes and a marker ... You can leave a sticky for your room steward to LEAVE all of your towels animals each day in your room and they will set them aside until the end of the cruise. Silly little quirk ... I like to keep them all as long as possible. I wish I had known this as well on our first cruise. (April 2016) I was wanting to keep them all and take a "zoo" pic of them all at the end for my kids. Imagine my shock when they kept getting taken away every day. :(
victory08 Posted March 8, 2017 #162 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Take half as many clothes. Take more money than you think you will need. Spend $20 in the casino to remind yourself why you dont gamble. Join in a Lido game, join a line dance. Get up early and watch a sunrise. Find the "wind tunnel" door at the front of the ship and take silly pictures! (Our 1st cruise on the Paradise we spent probably 20 min every morning doing dumb stuff at those doors!) And HAVE FUN and TRY NEW THINGS![/ This will be my second carnival cruise, my friends like 5th and we have never heard of the "wind tunnel" door? i know its at the front but how do you get there we are leaving friday on ecstasy! nancychic Posted March 8, 2017 #165 Share Posted March 8, 2017 After you unpack, keep your suitcases open and stack them inside each other under the bed. Works great as a pull-out drawer to throw souvenirs and extra shoes into to keep all of this stuff out of the way. I use one side as dirty clothes storage. Then I make sure to take advantage of the laundry special (mid week) that allows you to fill up a bag for $15. Always remember to roll your clothes and you can get a bunch more into the bag. Don't forget to itemize what you put in there. It comes back clean and folded the next day. Who wants to come home from vacay and do a bunch of laundry? UGH. tea4ular Posted March 8, 2017 #166 Share Posted March 8, 2017 ...that I should grab a porter as soon as I have all my luggage - because the porters have their own customs lines and it's worth the $10 to fly through the chaos called disembarkation! Guy2073 Posted March 8, 2017 #170 Share Posted March 8, 2017 I am going on my first cruise in may, we booked at a travel agent and paid in full 2 weeks ago. We also paid for gratuities and travel insurance. The agent charged us the same price that was on the carnival website. My question is when i look on the carnival website now the price is a few hundred dollars less, is it possible to get a refund for the difference? They don't give refunds, but you may be able to upgrade your room. Say you got an inside for $499 and now the oceanviews are $515, you can upgrade to the oceanview for the difference. But I have never heard of getting the difference back, unless you have the Early Saver option.

Probably not a refund, since you've paid in full, but perhaps an on board credit. Depends if it was booked as an early saver. Ask your travel agent. :)
zoof26 Posted March 9, 2017 #174 Share Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) Bring an over the door shoe storage holder for the bathroom door. We store all of our toiletries in the clear pouches. Keeps the limited counter space free and clear. Edited March 9, 2017 by zoof26 Sp
zoof26 Posted March 9, 2017 #175 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Pack a power strip. Matches for freshening the bathroom. Clorox wipes. I wipe down all of the handles, knobs, remotes in the room. If you're a reader, download your books to your e reader before you leave Take a pic of your parking spot at the port (or airport ) so you remember your spot
