Vista - Did I make a mistake?

For those of you that have been on the Vista, is the Lanai on Deck 5 a nice area? I found it on the deck plans and it looks like a nice place to sit, have a drink, etc. I just wondered if it was utilized much for people that had already sailed on Vista.

I'm excited about all the bars too!

I was on the Vista NY repo to MIA cruise last Thanksgiving. I heard a few gripes on board, some about the main theater, some about the comedy club, and a few about the different atria.

I heard some comments that were really about someone having difficulty adjusting to the change of decor, Vista being more "modern" than quarky Farcus.

I didn't hear any one complaining about the Havana cabins though.

My own experience was pretty positive, we had a typical 8 deck balcony and enjoyed the food, the different food venues, the casino,, the ports, and how the ship handled the seas. In fact, because of the Vista experience, we booked the Horizon for another NY cruise in May 2018.

One last point: the Vista may have a dry dock upgrade by the time you sail her in 2019!

The Lanai was our favorite place on the ship! We liked sitting out there in the morning with coffee and a deck of cards, then later in the evening for drinks. Some of the deck 5 venues (Red Frog, Bonsai, and the Steakhouse come to mind) have outside tables. I also enjoyed walking all the way forward for a really great view over the bow at sunset.

This photo was taken the first night on our Med cruise by the one and only Matt Mitcham.

Yours truly, on deck 5 outside Ocean Plaza. Behind me you see the door to the Havana area.
