I'm going on this cruise in November so just trying to see about the different ports . I have only been to Aruba and St Thomas, so lots are new to me.

Thanks. The Bonaire tour (you'll see pictures of that later tonight) was something we booked at the pier. I'll see if my wife can remember the name. It did a pretty comprehensive tour that lasted almost 4 hours.

My wife and I did this 10 day itinerary (Southern Melody) in 2011 on the Star Princess. One of my favorite cruises and itineraries.

Its a parking lot on the right. Sometimes its full and they open overflow parking in the school parking lot to the left. The parking is about a 2 min walk from the breakwater where I took the pictures.

OK, I'm back :)

 

Pictures from Bonaire tour. We picked this tour up at the pier and they promised we'd see a good tour including pink flamingos and salt flats. This tour did the north and south side and was $25pp.

The Cadushy Distillery - they make liquor and liqueur from the cactus - free samples :-) . Don't knock it until you try it - it was delicious and I got a bottle for $25USD.

The salt works at the south end of the island ... or was it the north end???

 

 

 

On the way to this part of the island, the tour guide mentioned we were going to see the white slave houses. I thought, huh? Never heard of white slaves before but this is what they were referring to :-)

 

 

They used to march the slaves from one end of the island to this one each week and they'd stay here for 5 days before being marched back. They used to cram 8 fully grown men into these things.

Next up was Aruba. We spent the morning at Palm Beach but our plan was Eagle Beach. Palm Beach was great but I hear there are more amenities at Eagle Beach and so I think next time I'd do Eagle Beach. Still, Palm BEach was great. Waves were a bit large for some but the morning was a great beach day.
