Live! onboard Reflection... Western Caribbean Cruise

Hello everyone, we got back home early yesterday morning and I plan on a review.

Russg140, I'm sorry but I had thrown that flyer away a day or two before you asked or I would have posted for you.

Macaroni, we went to Murano on the final sea day and ordered the chateaubriand for two and it was the best thing I ate on the boat. Everything there was fantastic.

Junie2017,

Coba was great. It was very unique experience to see, touch and climb something so old. Look for the sacrificial stone at the top of the temple when you're there... very eerie feeing standing where others were sacrificed 1000 years ago.

Afterwards you drive 15 minutes to the ceynote which is another very cool experience. The water really is crystal clear and you can easily see the bottom of the cave despite it being very, very deep.

My only gripe with coba is the travel time cuts into the tour time... but there's nothing anyone can really do about that. I would have liked to spend several hours wandering around the ruins but we basically had an hour for coba and an hour for the ceynote.

Also the boat that takes you from Cozumel to the Yucatan peninsula is very up and down and there were many people getting sick and losing their breakfast. Didn't happen to us, but I felt bad for a lot of people.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi John.

Think I might have run into you on the last day of your cruise in the World Class Bar. You were recommending drinks that you and your wife liked. You said you were having luck at the craps table and that you were from Cincinnati so I am assuming it was you! We both liked the Old Fashioned with the large square ice cube and were surprised that it was made with rum.

I thought the cruise was fantastic and am hoping to do it again next year. It was nice meeting you and am only sorry that I couldn't have taken you up on your offer to show us how to shoot craps!

Swampbabe,

We ate at the Lawn Club Grill on our first night on the Reflection last month and went in shorts...not cut-offs, but "nice" white denim. Totally acceptable.

ENJOY...I think it was the best meal we had onboard. Followed up a couple of days later by lunch in LCG.

FYI, there was someone standing outside the Oceanview Café offering a deal on the cost of LCG for the first night. We were able to get it for $30pp rather than the typical $45pp. Be sure to leave room for the warm chocolate chip cookie served with a scoop of ice cream...like a little bit of Heaven.

Great review and glad you posted about the sailaway reggae vibe...

Sounds like a great Happy Party. Ya Mon! Who was the DJ if you recall..

"Well to our surprise, when we got to sunset bar, they had a DJ playing bob Marley and the place seriously might have been the happiest place on earth. We stayed and had about 3 drinks until they closed it down. All the bartenders were dancing and putting on a show for everyone... it really was paradise. We learned they do that for every sail away so we will be there as soon as we get back on the ship the next 3 nights "

Hi Katrina,

Yes that was us and I remember having that conversation with you! We loved everything about that cruise and yes you should have made your way to the casino that last night.... it was the best table I've ever been on and the casino shut it down at 1230 claiming they were getting too close to international waters.... the place was packed and everyone at that table was winning large sums of money.

We are going to consider another cruise next year during spring break but we would probably take the kids next time... so we may end up trying NCL or RC because we could get a better price. I loved celebrity though. I would book the reflection again in a heartbeat if it were just the mrs and I going... we'll see.
