Princess Cruise Card - Queen Mary

Not sure if this has been mentioned before or not but you can no longer show your cruise card to get on the Queen Mary for free when Long Beach is a port of call. You now have to pay $10pp for a cruise ship day pass.

It is not worth visiting for free actually... no loss..

We stayed there when we took our cruise and loved the ship. I think 10 is still pretty reasonable to tour it. I would pay.

She has been poorly managed since arriving in Long Beach in 1967.

I visited back around '82, and was fascinated. I'd never cruised, and the views of passengers' cabins were amazing, compared to the cruise brochures I had been looking at. The marvelous thing for me was the large window where you could see straight down into the engine room. I'm sorry to hear it hasn't been taken care if properly. Great chance to see what passenger ships were like and how luxurious they are today.

I recently read an article in my local paper (obviously not a local article) that said the ship was falling apart. Many areas were off limits that used to be open.
