cuti Posted April 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2017 I just booked Anthem of the Seas 5 day sailing which stops at Bar Harbor and Halifax. While I'm adventurous and a runner, I'll be traveling with my mom, who is 70 and not quite as active as myself. But she is mobile -- just not likely to go on major hiking trips. ;) I'd love some advice on excursions and tour companies that I can look up and book. Thanks!!! liketraveling Posted April 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2017 For Halifax, Check out Halifax Taxi Tours website. There were a group of us from our roll call that took the tour. This was one of the best tours I have been on.
maryann ns Posted April 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2017 If walking is not a problem then you can have an inexpensive day just walking the Halifax waterfront. You could check out the Harbour Hopper tour for an overview. Check out www.destinationhalifax.com Or you could rent a car and go to Peggy's Cove and possibly on to Lunenburg. rotchill Posted May 31, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 31, 2017 I used Bruce's Taxi Tours last fall. This was the best excursion on our trip. Bruce was great and helped set up some great photos. He has a great eye for photography. Took us to many great spots. Would highly recommend.
cruiserking Posted May 31, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 31, 2017 Halifax: We did a great food walking tour here this past fall. It was fun to stroll around Halifax and sample some local, tasty foods we wouldn't normally have visited. This would be perfect for your mom. The tour begins and ends at the cruise ship pier in Halifax. The walking distance is not far at all. the food was delicious. Here's the website and the somo tour we did. http://localtastingtours.com/somo-food-tour/ Jonathan
