Online reservations not available

We are going on Millenium in February and wanted to book one of the excursions, to the Pingxi Lantern Festival, but it says online reservations aren't available but to check onboard. Could this be because they have sold out all the places - or another reason?

It's probably to early. Excursions are available about 120 before the cruise.

It may be sold out on line but they often, not always, keep some slots open for on board booking. Check with shore excursions as soon as you board.

 

It is not true that excursions are only available about 120 days before your cruise. Our Alaska cruise departs in 113 days and I have been looking at excursions for the last 6 months or more. Our Silhouette cruise is in 584 days and excursions are already showing up on line. They may not all show immediately but they are available well before 120 days. If that were the case you would not even see it listed today.

It is sold out - I called Celebrity after several calls finally as a diamond member I was contacted they only could get 300 tickets for this signature event and they are all booked, only chance is if someone cancel aboard the ship (good luck with that) we were able to find a private tour and booked it. It was expensive for 2 people, tour agency said we could add and they would reduce price. If interested contact me sharen210@gmail.com and I can give you information if you would like to join us.

You should post this on the Roll Call for your cruise, that is where others on your sailing will be more likely to see it.

Not true.

I booked 4 excursions on Wednesday 8th November, for our Silhouette cruise which leaves on 23 rd June 2018.

I used the web site to book them and have had an email confirming the booking.

If you are unable to book the shore excursion with Celebrity, I highly recommend a tour with Topology Travel:

Although we did not take their tour to Pingxi for the Lantern Festival, I am sure they would do a great tour for you since we thoroughly enjoyed our tour with David Lin to Yehliu Geo Park & Jiufen Old Street. They were very easy to work with and willing to adjust the tour times to meet our time requirements and the Millennium's departure schedule. A wonderful multi-course luncheon at a nice Chinese restaurant was included in published price for our tour.
