Booking through Club Royale Changed

Recommended Posts

Forget about the coupons.......

They make no sense to me and since we are on the West Coast...there is no way I am flying all the way to Florida (our choice for most cruises) for an inside cabin/3 day cruise/etc.

I wait until I find a cruise I want to go on, when I want to go and then call Club Royale.

They always just give us 50% off.....I never mention coupons or discounts.

In September we will be in a GS on the Harmony.

We are penny slot players but probably average about $2.00 per pull. I go most every day to the casino. My husband not very much.

We are older & I really appreciate the discount. Nothing like a GS !

I hope you still get 50% off under the new rules. Please report back next time you book a cruise.

I was told months ago that you couldn't combine a certificate with the casino rates. I have booked 6 cruises using the $ off certificates. ($300-$500) in the last 6 months. It's even worse for solo's. The casino rates are all based on 2 in a cabin. All the cruises I have price through the casino were $300 to $700 higher than my D+ crown and anchor solo rate.

Not sure if I like the changes.

They won't let you use your $100 - $500 off casino certificate with casino rates.

Yikes..I booked 10 days ago through Club Royale and they let me use my certificate as well as the casino rate. Super low rate. I sure hope it's not going away.

I did also until I called this past Monday when I got off a three nighter to apply the $ off certificate to one of my casino rate future cruises I have already booked. Nope. I called back yesterday and spoke with somebody different with the same result.

This particular rule (certificates not applicable to future cruises already booked) has been in effect for a while now. I used to do this also, but several months ago they started enforcing the "certificates are good for new bookings only" rule. Actually, you can use the certificates for a cruise already booked but they will reprice it at the prevailing rate so the value of the certificate is, at best, null. Usually better off just sticking with the original booking.

So we have started taking little shorties out of Baltimore where we don't have to fly. It has worked out great for now. But if they stop allowing the certificates to be combined with the casino rate on new bookings this is going to be a big disappointment. I'm already very unhappy with the NRD for suites. If they stop allowing the certificates combined with the casino rate it will probably be enough to make me start looking elsewhere.

They have. Please report back when you book your next cruise with a certificate.

I received an after cruise call from CR today. Very satisfied with CR. I believe they are now rewarding good Players. I don't have a need to figure out the system as the system takes care of me.

Awesome. I'm glad they are still taking care of the high rollers.
