Rare Copper10-8 Posted July 21, 2017 #38 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Captain Jonathan Mercer is back on Amsterdam, having replaced Capt. Eversen. ArtsyCraftsy Posted July 21, 2017 #40 Share Posted July 21, 2017 You guys totally make my morning fun!! In 2 weeks that will be me on the Amsterdam - so excited and I will wave 😃 I'm a little behind you -- I board the Amsterdam in Seattle on September 11, should be in Juneau on September 15. I plan to be waving, too. :D And thanks to scrapnana for posting this -- I've gotten hooked on watching the HAL ships come and go at Juneau. I've learned a lot just from clicking on different things (ship descriptions, routes, etc.). Good stuff!
Happily@Sea Posted July 21, 2017 #41 Share Posted July 21, 2017 They are playing - I mean drilling - with the lifeboats and tenders. They are on the radio.
Rare rafinmd Posted July 21, 2017 #42 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Sounded to me like things were not going quite perfectly, but those learning experiences are what drills are all about. Making mistakes in the drills rather than when something happens. They should be wrapping up soon. Volendam is nearing the Gastineau. Roy
