Ruby Princess-Progressive Check-in

Hello,

We had planned to get to Port 91 in Seattle for our cruise in September around 11 a.m. but I was just looking at our booking summary and saw that it notes a progressive check-in...our deck does not have the check in until 2 p.m...we were hoping to get something to eat in the MDR and hopefully relax in our rooms before sail away but it does not appear that's going to be case (says Horizon court is open all day).

Question--if our deck check-in is at 2 p.m. then what is the earliest time you think we should arrive at Port 91. We are staying at one of the downtown hotels and had planned to probably just taxi or uber over.

Thanks!

I sailed the Ruby two weeks ago, and while we were told boarding was at 2, we arrived at 11 and were let right on the ship. Our room was even ready, with our luggage outside our door, and we brought it in the Princess building with us and didn't do anything special, other than getting there early. The place was deserted, so we were able to check right in and get on board, and we didn't have to wait for anything, not even to get through security. We were in the MDR eating lunch by 12.

We were on the 7/29 cruise and were shocked at being able to walk into the terminal at 11 AM, inprocess immediately and then proceed to board the ship. It took maybe all of 10 minutes or so. We did have over 2700 newbies (blue cards) aboard and they may have believed the progressive checkin as we saw them streaming aboard later in the day. Another advantage was that the CG was maybe half full at most and we were given the time/date we wanted without any problem.

Lucky, lucky, lucky.

We've never done a cruise with that many newbies.

The only time we didn't have long lines (and waits) was when we sailed on the Pacific.:D
