xnavydoc2 Posted August 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2017 I will be in London (post cruise) for a couple of days, and might see The Phantom of the Opera at Queen's Theatre. It will be on a Monday evening. What would be proper attire? Could I "Get Away" with slacks and a Polo Shirt? Thanks
Morgans Posted August 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2017 No problem at all - you will be fine. Hope you enjoy it.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Absolutely. What you have planned is perfect. I am afraid that these day you can really be casual so you could war blue jeans too. keith
xnavydoc2 Posted August 22, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Thank You Morgans and Keith. I appreciate your kind words as well. This will be the 12th time I've seen "Phantom", but never in London.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2017 You are very welcome. We love to see the Phantom Of The Opera as well and have seen it in London two times and in the USA four times. Wishing you a wonderful performance. GrJ Berkshire Posted August 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2017 Sadly, these days there is no dress code for the theatre. You will see all sorts and on a warm summer day people dressed more for the beach than theatre. Dressing up to go to the theatre has gone.
LondonTowner Posted August 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2017 I have never understood the hype about Phantom. I thought it was boring and wanted it to be over. Sent from my iPad using Forums

kctwinmommy Posted August 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 24, 2017 We saw Les Miz when we were there last month. I wore a nice dress and my husband and son wore shirt & tie. Yes, we were definitely among the very few dressed up. I was actually surprised. I guess I didn't realize the theater had become so casual. So you'll certainly be fine.
