Just sailed SIlversea, LOVED IT.......so would I love Seabourn too?

I have cruised on Celebrity 25 times. Their suite benefits are very nice. Separate dining room and lounge. Butler, ect. You will find a younger crowd that meet in the Martini Bar and other bars.

The only reason we are back to cruising on the luxury lines is that Celebrity suite prices are now the same as the luxury lines and we do enjoy a smaller ship. I`m sure I will be flamed for suggesting Celebrity but they are so popular right now that it can be hard to find a suite available on their ships. Their new ship The Edge will be out in Dec. 2018 and that will be the big buzz in the industry. Check it out.

Hi Heather:).....I was even looking to book a Suite on Celebrity......you know I have sailed with them over 40 times......

never able to afford a suite before. Some of them are now in my range but after cruising on Silversea, not sure I

want to go back to the big ships..........but I did put a deposit down on EDGE.........I think sailing a brand new ship,

(Even a big one) may be fun;)

Yes, we are booked on the Edge for its inaugural in a Sky Suite! Very excited. Your thoughts are exactly why we have decided to give Celebrity a try.....we have suites booked on the trips we are doing with them. I do like the small ship too...I think we will bounce back and forth from a little larger premium line to smaller luxury...so I think SB is definitely worth a try.

I find that Regent, Silver Seas and Crystal have the same passengers. Seabourn is more relaxed with a more friendly group. I am 63 and find Seabourn is a better fit for me.

So we are trying a different cruise line today, boarded Azamara Quest to Cuba this afternoon in Miami. The ship is beautiful! Much prettier than any of the Silversea ships we have been on...hope the service is good. We had lunch on the aft deck here in port...really good food. We will see how things progress...

I have been pleased with Azamara. Very friendly crew. I miss having a bathtub in their Reg. Bal. cabins.

Also nice to be able to bring my Elite Plus perks over from Celebrity.

I find the comments about the various premier (almost luxury) cruise lines to be very interesting. I would love to hear more about Azamara. I also find it interesting that the SB passengers are among the most friendly. Friendly is US---we loved meeting everyone.

I enjoyed Azamara Quest last year over the holidays. I particularly loved how lively the evening activities and casino were. On New Years Eve they held a white party on deck that I dare say bordered on rowdy. And a night or two before we enjoyed the Azamazing Evening where we stayed late in port in Antigua and the ENTIRE ship was bussed to the governor's residence for a fabulous concert and party on the grounds, Caribbean food and cocktails, the governor and his wife talking with everyone, tours of the home, and capped off with fireworks and locals in the streets waving at our police escorted busses driving us all the way back onto the pier. Azamara does an Azamazing Evening at one port on every cruise.

 

I thought the food was okay... but nothing to write home about. They did have a New Year's Day brunch that was fabulous - it was somewhat like the Galley Market Lunch. The bar selection that is complimentary is more limited but I managed to find a rose they had daily. Other wines rotate and, unlike Seabourn, you can't request favorites on days they aren't being poured. We ended up buying a premium bottle at dinner every night.

 

Guests were as friendly as on Seabourn but cabins were much smaller and definitely showing their age. If I were cruising solo, I'd look at them again because they offer some nice solo rates.
