Full lunching options (or not) on embarkation day for Carnival Splendor

Can somebody confirm for us whether Carnival will have all regular lunch venues open on embarkation day, or just the buffet. I seem to remember early cruises when only the main buffet was open on embarkation day and the grills and delis and pizza and specialty counters were closed until later on.

 

We're sailing next Saturday on the Splendor.

Dining rooms are not open on the ships at embarcation. Other than that, most everything (except, like the Steakhouse) will be. For instance, if a ship has Guy's and Blue Iguana, they will be open.

Yes, we knew about the dining rooms not being open, I meant the Lido and pool area venues. Thanks though and have fun on your cruise.

All of the Lido deck food venues are usually open.

I think of all of them as part of the "buffet" but if you want to separate them then yes, the pizza, deli etc. etc. will be open. I think of all of those as just other buffet stations.

Full lunch venues! :) We ate at the Ol' Fashioned BBQ place on embarkation day, and it was pretty good!

Around the Lido Deck Splendor has typical buffet which changes theme daily, Grill (not Guys), Burrito Bar (not Blue Iguana), Mongolian Grill, Pizza, Deli,Old Fashioned BBQ (upstairs on Deck 10), Tandoor (Yum!!!!)

 

Although Splendor does not have the 2.0, she has the the BBQ and Tandoor which are not options on many ships.
