Can you book Celebrity Airport Transfer On Board?

We have never had the need to use a cruise line transfer to the airport during past cruises, as we usually just cab or local shuttle or whatever was most cost effective. This time our cruise is out of FLL while our flight is out of MIA. We have quite a bit of OBC to use and so thinking of just using Celebrity to get us back to the airport. Haven't called our TA to see about reserving it in advance, since I am not sure if they would be able to use the credit and since we are still not sure if we want to go that route. I am thinking we can reserve it on board, like you can excursions, but not certain.

TIA (Had to throw in one more acronym).

Is your OBC refundable (OBR) or non refundable (OBN)? If you have OBR remaining in your on board account it will be refunded to your credit card. The transfer using OBN is a good move if there is nothing else you want since OBN is lost if not spent.

We did it last month in reverse, flight out of FLL, ship out of POM for same reason to use our OBC. Two points, double check times, we were given at time when we booked it and then it was changed without our knowledge. Thankfully we were in a suite and the Michael's Club Concierge first caught this. Secondly, be prepared to wait until the bus fills up. We had time but waited an hour on the bus.

On any Celebrity ship the Shore Excrsions staff will be more than willing to sell an airport transfer. The shuttle service may not be listed in that shore excursions list provided an embarkation, but it will be available. But the Celebrity shuttle service is generally, if not always, higher priced than what you could find independently, so Orator's post as to whether your OBC is refundable or non-refundable is a very important consideration.

Good suggestions by all. A portion is non-refundable so that was why the idea came to mind. The fact that they wait to fill up, etc is what I have read in the past and is partly a factor in regards to whether or not we will go through with it. But we do have a late enough flight to be flexible. Also was waiting until we are on board and seeing if we spend the the credit on something else, like upgrading the drink package, shopping, etc. Our cruise is one that has had the itinerary changed multiple times due to the hurricanes, and at this point we are not planning on doing much on the port days other than just getting off the ship and walking around. Which is a first time for us too. We know we will have to pay for some kind of transportation, so just weighing the options.

Thanks again for the great feedback.

On Equinox we went to Shore Excursions and they sent us to customer service.

We not only have had to wait a long time for the bus to fill up but had a big hassle making sure our luggage got in the storage hold. People were pushing and shoving their luggage into the bus before they knew if there was room for them to ride. The boarding was very disorganized.

It was also disappointing to hear the bus driver repeatedly tell us what a hard job he had and he was underpaid so we should offer him a generous tip.

Your experience may vary! Mike
