St. Maarten or alternate port? Celebrity Eclipse 02/18/2018

FYI, we are the Royal Princess on Feb 18, and St Maarten was changed to Martinique (a port we have not been to). Also doing a B2B on the Silhouette starting Feb 11th, so interested in the answer.

We are sailing jan 6 on the eclipse at St. Maarten was changed to St Thomas. I heard that St. Maarten sustained damage due to the hurricanes. Who knows how long it will take to repair

This popular cruise destination suffered significant damage, but communications, power, and water have all been restored. Although several shops remain closed, Great Bay Beach (near the pier) is in great shape. The port plans to receive cruise ships later this month, and our first visit is scheduled for February 6, 2018 with Celebrity EquinoxSM.

Recently a cruiser reported that Maho Beach has chairs and umbrellas at the other end from Sunset bar. Pictures show more sand there.

Many others have stated the water taxi to beach by ship is best bet.

This is information from RCL cruises which are recently returned to St marten. No one has stated that Orient beach is okay yet.

Maho Beach is on the mend.
