CrazySexyCruise2323 Posted December 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Hey there,Driving to Miami From NC for a cruise in a few weeks, what company do you recommend parking our car with for the duration of our cruise. Price-wise I prefer to not park at the port and just park with a company that has a shuttle to and from the port. Thanks

Langley Cruisers Posted December 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2017 You must park at the port. PLEASE. There are horror stories on these boards about parking off-site. Theft, vandalism, even a homeless person sleeping in a parked car. I'm serious - the locals tell these stories and we believe them. You've asked for advice and here it is: park at the port.... there is just no other option. ;)
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2017 This item comes up regularly on the Florida Departures Board. Many of us who frequent the board and who have lots of experience recommend parking at the port. Although you pay a bit more you have two major benefits; Convenience Safety of your Car. wannavacay Posted December 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2017 We have also driven from NC. If you park at, say, your pre-cruise hotel at their +Shuttle rate (which could be more than regular room rate), when you are trying to get home, you have to wait for the shuttle to fill up with other guests and drive back to the hotel before you can get to your car. We did this once in Fort Lauderdale, and never again. If you want to get on the road quickly, parking at the port is worth the additional expense (especially if you compare it against the hotel's higher rate). We made sure when we parked we already had a full tank of gas. It was really convenient, and we were on the highway within about 15 minutes of getting off the ship. skrufy Posted December 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2017 There are lots of pros and cons regarding parking at an outside lot. Some have never had a problem and others had problems. The areas the parking lots are in are not in the safest areas of Miami. Its best to park at the port for the comfort of coming back to a car in the shape you left it.
