What happens if CocoCay is cancelled?

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on Anthem next month. If CocoCay is cancelled, and they spend more time in Nassau, will we be able to schedule another excursion in Nassau from the ship? Was thinking about Atlantis, for example. I wasn't sure if excursions like that would be sold out and not able to be booked last minute. Thank you!

We were on the Anthem over New Year's. Coco Cay was cancelled because of high winds and high waves. We ended up with an extra sea day - not an extra day in Nassau, where the weather also was windy and rainy on and off (sunny for about 2-3 hours.) I have heard the ships can switch out Nassau and Coco Cay but no experience with that.

Whether you will end up in Nassua for a longer time depends on whether there is room for Anthem in port. We missed Coco Cay on our November Anthem sailing. We actually got to Coco Cay, they tried tendering and it was too choppy. We left Coco Cay around 10:15am and headed to Nassua. We got to Nassua around 1:30pm and overnighted there, since we were supposed to be there the day after Coco Cay. They did make more excursions available for the first day there, but we did not take one, so not sure what was offered. We departed Nassua at the original scheduled time.
