cltnccruisers Posted February 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Saw this on a RC blog. Wonder if X is participating - likely the same development team, similar problems. The need for this supports the idea that the developers may not be cruise industry people. Royal Caribbean hosting an open website usability test In: Website 21Feb2018 Royal Caribbean is inviting the public to help test their website at their corporate offices in March. If you are interested in helping Royal Caribbean test their site's usability, and you will be in South Florida between March 12-16, you can apply to join. Those accepted to the test will conduct the testing at Royal Caribbean's corporate offices, followed by lunch onboard a cruise ship.
Rare John&LaLa Posted February 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Interesting how they will do the lunch. Pretty sure there's not an available ship there all week Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
cltnccruisers Posted February 21, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 21, 2018 We're on Silhouette that week. If X wanted to set up a similar testing session on a sea day I'd be happy to help. I think doing this sort of thing on board would attract more experienced cruisers than doing it at the corporate offices.

No need for internet. It is actually a little encouraging that they are doing this at all. It really is an acknowledgement that their developers aren't up to the task. NantahalaCruiser Posted February 23, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2018 We have all been Beta-testers ever since they released the new website  Unfortunately, they seem to ignore our test result reports!
micruiser2002 Posted February 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2018 This is very interesting, I recommended this to a person who called me from their corporate offices about a month ago. I sent an email about the condition of their website and was called the next day. I told them they needed to have actual people who use their website test it since they do not seem to be able to work out their bugs before they launch to the public. bEwAbG Posted February 24, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2018 I think it would behoove them to perform some remote tests as well with people using different computer setups under different conditions. And then they should program to the lowest common denominator. How many posts do we see about luggage tag issues, and it's a matter of someone not allowing pop-ups? If they focused on clear, concise error handling, people would be less frustrated.
