carlsbadguy Posted February 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Looking at a cabin that is beneath the showroom . Would that cabin be noisy?
JimandStan Posted February 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Above the Showroom is usually worse than below. Also, it's more a case of vibrations rather than actual, audible noise. Oceania Entertainments are done early, but don't book those cabins if you like to be in bed before 11pm or are a daytime sleeper (napper?). There are no daytime shows but rehearsals and sound checks must be considered also .
NIX70 Posted February 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2018 We made friends with a lovely lady on Regatta (May '17, Alaska) who was in a PH directly above the theatre. She HATED it. She was quite elderly and was kept awake until past midnight by pounding music from the show followed by crew clear-up (according to her).

Interesting story, but the nearest Penthouse to the Regatta showroom is three decks away. If two decks of passenger cabins don't provide enough insulation, well, that sounds a bit like "The Princess and the Pea".

I agree with you guys, but I wonder if the lady in question was not in a PH but in one of the forward-facing Oceania Suites on deck 6. We've been in one of the smaller adjacent cabins on deck 7 a couple of times and could hear the drummer practicing in the afternoon even two floors up. Either that or it was the Captain above us, as 7000 is directly beneath the bridge. We didn't hear shows, but possibly could have if we hadn't already been passed out from touring, drinks and dinner by the time they started. I_r_a Posted February 23, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Hi Guy, We had cabin 6001, directly above the stage. We were concerned that we might be kept awake. Nope. Didn't hear anything from rehearsal or the shows. Ira

Didn't hear anything from rehearsal or the shows. Ira Same thing. We had 6001 and heard no noise from the stage. That said, in the morning we heard a bunch of noise from the anchor being lowered or the ropes going out to dock. A lot of work being done outside in front just below you. Not a big deal but be aware. Still loved the cabin but would taken the 7th floor Vista Suite if I could. :):):)
