Old £5 & £10 notes

Yes this summer, but the longer down the line the less are about, plus local manned bank counters are going in much of the country outside of London. I last had a old £10 note in July, which was payable into an account, and I was known at the bank.

I think you will find it hard to exchange outside central London.

Do not know Southampton well enough to answer, but Saturday opening is only main branches in city centres. Many small towns, suburbs the banks are closing at a rapid rate as online banking has seen football dive and cheques become rare. In many ways we are quickly becoming a cash less society.

Hi Lyn,

Metro Bank is located in Westquay shopping mall, near the cruise terminals, opposite Premier Inn Westquay. It’s open 7 days a week, during the mall’s opening hours. Other banks, including HSBC on Above Bar, are open on a Saturday.

We are open 7 days a week, 362 days a year. We are only closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

Shops will be open in Westquay on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday. Easter Sunday everywhere is closed by law.
