Dgius Posted April 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2018 Hey there MSC travel folks We are in the Yacht Club for a Western Mediterranean trip in June. Has anyone every asked the concierge for a picnic lunch to be prepared to take off the ship? We are arranging for a wine tasting excursion in France and I think I would like to have a picnic at one of the stops? Anyone done this? Heard anyone doing it? Dgius Posted April 29, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted April 29, 2018 Nope. No food (unless pre packaged) Off the ship. Just curious...did you try and were denied? I was even thinking I could "pay" for a picnic preparation? Still you think it would be a "no" Thanks for the response..... :)
champagne123 Posted April 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2018 It has nothing to do with the ship. It is the ports. Any food that is taken off or on the ship MUST be pre-packaged.

CarolnLarry Posted April 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Ask anyone who is sailing in the next couple of weeks to ask the question of the concierge/butler for you. That is the best way to get the correct answer. Maybe putting the request in the roll calls will get someone to find out for you.

karmic50 Posted May 1, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 1, 2018 We take food off all the time. No one is checking you when you disembark. We make little sandwiches and wrap them in napkins.... We don't take food on board or when we disembark in the states.
JAGR Posted May 1, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 1, 2018 This is wrong. The other posters are correct. You are safest if you bring the packaged good from the fridge with you, but if you discretely put food in a small cooler or non see-through bag, you will not have any problem. NO food.
