How early to book flight for return from Port Canaveral out of Orlando?

Wondering how much time we need to allow to get from port to airport. Also best way to do so.

I did self embark last weekend from Port Canaveral and was at the airport in Orlando at 8:05 AM for a 2 pm flight. If I were to do it again I would schedule the return flight for 11 am. Also we used Cortrans shuttle service.

A number of posts on the board have given favorable feedback on Cortrans.

I would not book before 12 noon. Any type of traffic delay on Rte. 528 could ruin your day.

I was just wondering the same. There is a 11:55am flight that is reasonable but wasn't sure this was enough time since the airport seems to be ~45 away. Is traffic usually OK on Saturdays?

For an 11:55 flight you need to be at MCO NLT 10:30, and given the usual TSA chaos 10:00 is better; figure an hour to load into a shuttle and drive from PC to MCO, so that translates into off the ship, with bags, and clear of customs/immigration by 9:00

 

You should be okay with a low number or carrying your bags off -- what time does your ship arrive? :confused:

The ship gets in a 8:00 and we were planning carry off ourselves and take an Uber.
