we want to go to Paris after our cruise and stay 3 days. Has anyone gotten off the day before while docked in Le Havre?

Is it easy to do and can you get private transfers.

We have thought about going all the way back to South Hampton then transfer to train station and take euro star back to Paris.

Which would you do?

You (or your travel agent if you have one) need to request a route sector deviation from Princess. They usually only allow a certain number at a particular port, so it may not be available for you - which will help make your decision fast!

Just have a plan "B" in case the ship does not make it to Le Havre.

We were on a round trip Southampton, but a strike meant we could not go to Le Havre. Instead we went to Zeebrugge where those who had arranged to disembark at Le Havre were given two options:

a) Get off in Zeebrugge and then be on their own to get to wherever they were going.

b) Stay on the ship another night and disembark in Southampton.

Unlike the thread mentioned above by moki'smommy, Le Havre was not a designated port for disembarkation or embarkation on our cruise, so Princess would not have any responsibility for those who had arranged the deviation to disembark there.

We are going to disembark in Le Havre after our cruise later this summer. We had to get permission from Princess first (I'd heard that some people had been denied).

We are renting a car to drive to Paris, touring on the way. Other options are to take the Princess shuttle or the train. From what I've seen, private transfers are possible, but extremely expensive.

Our Royal cruise on the 18th June has two embarkation/disembarkation ports, Le Harve and Southampton. No need for special measures just book the sailing from Le Harve. Royal is doing several cruises from there this year.

As shown in the current LeHavre topic Princess in general did not have any responsibility with it being an disembarkation port, except for those with EZair.

My two adult daughters and I did this last May on the Caribbean Princess. We contacted Princess for route deviation and received a reply in less than a week that we were approved. Two days before we got to LeHavre we received our luggage tags and a letter stating we were disembarking in LeHavre. There was no immigration or anything. Walked off the ship, picked up our bags and grabbed a taxi to the train station. We had pre-purchased train tickets with insurance. It was a 2 hour train ride to Paris. We had a super time and so glad we deviated. Our Plan B was to go back to Southampton and take the Chunnel.
