Venice: Airport to hotel in city and then to NCL pier the next day

We are a family of five arriving at the airport and needing to get to our hotel, then to the pier the next day. Clearly, the best way is via water taxi (Yep, I know what it costs), but here are my two remaining questions:

1) Can you book a water taxi to pick up at the pier just west of the airport in advance?

If not, will there be taxis waiting?

2) The next day when we leave the hotel, how close does the water taxi get to the terminal? (We are not big on dragging our luggage...)

Any assistance will be most appreciated!:D:D

You need to be certain your hotel has a private dock if you don’t want to drag your luggage.

If your hotel has a private dock, then the hotel will call the water taxi for you.

It’s not necessary to book a water taxi in advance. There is a desk inside the airport before exiting where you go to pay and arrange. They will give you a slip of paper telling you which berth to go to.

Many thanks! Our hotel has a dock, so we are good. I forgot they can arrange water taxis (Duh, did that before:o) We'll follow your advice about the airport.

the water taxi dock is in same area as Alilaguna and people mover which is at end of large docking area with room for about 10 ships

depending on where your ship docks it can be a long walk with your luggage

Saturday in particular is peak turnaround day

No point in having your hotel book a taxi from the airport. They don’t know exactly when you will be ready. Just go to the desk after baggage carousels.

Your hotel can book the taxi to the port. Look at the port on google earth. The taxis dock at the top of the large U. Your ship could be anywhere within the U.
