Mikeygp Posted June 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2018 First Cruise imminent, Baltic all inclusive, getting anxious now. Starting to sort packing. Any tips for clothing, chattels, regrets and wishes. TIA, Mike.
Sauer-kraut Posted June 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2018 Be prepared to schedule some down time, its port intensive and you'll be on the go go go everyday.
Heidi13 Posted June 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Lots of great tours available from private tour operators. We used Alla Tour in St Petersburg and they also offered tours in other ports. Yes, it is port intensive with very long tours. Our Berlin tour was > 12 hrs. Make sure the camera batteries are charged and you have spare memory cards - you'll need them. Also bring comfortable walking shoes, as we walked for miles. Enjoy the Baltic
Rare puppycanducruise Posted June 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2018 So excited for you! First cruise, and the Baltic - fabulous. Take a deep breath. Remember to take patience and a sense of humour. Hope you have a wonderful time.
Slugsta Posted June 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Lucky you, the Baltics make a great cruise! Temperatures can vary considerably, so make sure you have clothing you can layer. This includes a waterproof. As has been said, these cruises are very port intensive and can be tiring - especially as you can be several hours in front of GMT by the time you get to St Petes! BLine Posted June 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2018 We checked the BBC weather forecast for various ports before we left on our Baltic cruise in May then repacked as we had originally packed too much warm clothing, perhaps just lucky with the weather. Enjoy your cruise
dogs4fun Posted June 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2018 The Baltic cruises are wonderful! Weather can be unpredictable - ensure that you have some layers. It is often quite cool in the early morning but warms up considerably by mid morning. Be prepared for walking - wear comfortable shoes (especially for the cobblestone streets). Hope you have a great cruise!
