Tampa, FL HAL sailings after Rotterdam's April 14th, 2019 last departure

Rotterdam has been redeployed to Panama Canal transits between FLL-SAN and reverse) for November 2019 through end of January 2020. This replaces Volendam which is moving to South America for most of the season Rotterdam's February-April 2020 schedule is as of yet unpublished.

All other ships are now fully deployed through April 2020. There appears to be no slack in the fleet for a TPA homeport for Fall through Spring 2019-20, unless Rotterdam moves to TPA for a short Feb-Apr 2020 season.

The high point of the Tampa embarkation is going under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge! It feels like you can reach up and touch it. It is a beautiful bridge.

Agree.

Tampa my favorite port. Never sailed HAL from there as small ship and too expensive for my taste. Wish they would put Vista class ship there in future.

Update - the travel agent booking system has been updated and Rotterdam will continue the Panama Canal cruises through April 2020. As all other fleet deployments were already settled (post Prinsendam announcement), This now pretty much nullifies any chance of HAL sailing from Tampa in Fall 2019 through Spring 2020.

Afraid of that. Good thing I booked a HAL cruise from FLL for Fall 2019.

Agreed. We have sailed on the Oosterdam in Nov 2016 and the Rotterdam in March 2018, both out of Tampa. The problem with the smaller ships like the Rotterdam is if you want a private balcony, then you are stuck booking a suite, with the associated higher prices. Any private balcony cabin is considered a Vista Suite. It has no regular veranda cabins like the Vista class ships and up. We were in a "lanai" cabin on the Rotterdam, and it was nice, but still not a true private balcony. Your balcony was the very busy Promenade deck. And there are only a limited number of lanai cabins, which tends to drive the price up.
