schmeed Posted August 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Has anyone ever used RCI Cruise and exchanged a deposit for $$ off a cruise? I used their website, and from the initial look the "discount" amount isn't worth exchanging the week. Looking for folks who have done this and what their experience and "discount" was like. "Discount" in quotes because you already paid for the week (ownership + maintenance) so it's not really a discount. :)
klfhngr Posted August 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2018 A friend of ours has, or at least was going too. It wasn't a discount/deal at all for him.....
jbklyn88 Posted August 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2018 RCI's "discounts" are bogus haha. I've looked through them a few times and sometimes RCCL's prices are better. Good to know someone else is not happy with that :p

This is especially true if you are a weeks member (points uses only a part of a week in my case). Steve

shippmates Posted August 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2018 We used our timeshare on another cruise line and the discount we received was not worth it. We could have booked the cabin cheaper on our own.
SbbquilterUT Posted August 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Never worth the week trade when we looked into it.
gravitar Posted August 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2018 I was just looking at the potential savings depositing the studio side on one of my timeshares into Interval International and exchanging it for a 4 day Cuba cruise July 4, 2019. Royals price was about $1950 and my net cost after exchange through II would be just over $1000. That's a substantial savings and would leave us with the 1 Bedroom side to use at any Westin or Sheraton resort without depositing it. It's also just under half the annual maintenance fees so not really losing much there either. stevea36 Posted August 4, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Thanks. How did booking multiple cabins change the equation? I will be booking 2 cabins. You only need to use one RCI 'deposit' against as many cabins as you book Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
