Good morning. I am new to MSC, have never sailed this cruise line. We have done 10 Carnival and 1 Royal Caribbean. I know they say all cruise lines are more similar than different but I'm not sure what I really need to know. How would one compare MSC to Carnival? We obviously with the number of times we have sailed with Carnival...used to the "party" boats. Always had a real fun time. How does MSC compare to Carnival. We are not seniors and love lots of action. We want to try something new and to be honest the "drink package" which is included on the Seaside kind of attracted our attention. Would MSC be for us?

You will not find the same party atmosphere on MSC. That being said the Seaside does have a couple of parties (white night and disco) that are quite fun. If you are looking for belly flop competitions and people getting loaded in the middle of the day you should stick with Carnival. We have cruised both and prefer MSC and think it is the best value for your money at this time.

Just got off seaside out of Miami and I was very impressed with them. Here are some of the activities that they had:

Daily games at the pool

Daily dance classes

Nightly party starting at 10:30

King and queen of seas competition

Belly flop competition

Pirate night, white night, 70’s night, gatspy night, among others

Comedy show almost nightly

Nightly show at the theater

Aerobics in the morning by the pool

Fit dancing in the afternoon by the pool

There are many other things that I felt took up all my time and were fun enough for my husband and I who are in our late 30s early 40s

I have been on carnival and prefer MSC.

I hope this helps

No one competes with Carnival as far as the 'silly' stuff is concerned, like the Hairy Man stuff, the Belly Flop, who can get the drunkest in the shortest amount of time. You get the point.

We are seniors, several years over., We have sailed Carnival maybe 7 times as you do NOT have to get involved in all that silliness if you don't want. They have the 'serenity area' where we happen to spend most of our time. We just soured on carnival as they have no security and basically let people do what they want, no matter what rules they put up, you know the chair hog thing, kids in all the hot tubs and pools even when it is Adults only. Now we have done 4 RCCL cruises and we simply prefer them. We do have an MSC cruise booked for the Mediterranean in Nov and are so looking forward to it.

Cheers

Len

I think you should stick with Carnival. What did you think about RC?
Actually I am sad to say we didn't have a very good experience with Royal Caribbean. The staff were not friendly....dirty dishes always filled the lido deck. Food was a lot better on Carnival. Just not a great vibe...oh well...to each their own....

Then I stand by my original statement Susan. If you did not have a good time on Royal, I really don't think MSC is for you. Have you checked out NCL? The Breakaway and Getaway are two ships that are tons of fun and are more like Carnival. I do wish you the very best.

How many times have you sailed with MSC to be sure about this?

I'm curious about what ship this was?

I respectfully disagree. There is something for everyone on Seaside, lots of fun but a bit classier than Carnival.
