FLACRUISER99 Posted November 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2018 Empress of the seas has no power. On her at the POM.
Clarea Posted November 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2018 Good luck, at least you are not at sea. Maybe it's some sort of unscheduled maintenance they are doing that requires the power to be off.
FLACRUISER99 Posted November 1, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted November 1, 2018 It just has been restored. I don't think it was planned as it was in the middle of boarding.
DallasGuy75219 Posted November 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2018 Checked in and been waiting in the terminal to board for almost an hour because they can't scan passengers onto the ship.

FLACRUISER99 Posted November 1, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted November 1, 2018 Only the center of the ship has power. Elevators are not working. I am very fortunate I do have power.

DallasGuy75219 Posted November 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) In terminal waiting almost 3 hours to board. I'm checked in but there are a substantial number of people still waiting to check in. They started the process to board people manually. Consider yourself lucky this happened on the smallest ship in the fleet - imagine if this happened on say, Mariner. DallasGuy75219 Posted November 1, 2018 #12 Share Posted November 1, 2018 Just now eating "lunch" in the Windjammer. By the time they finally get everyone checked in and boarded and sort through the paper boarding cards to create a final manifest, I expect we won't l be leaving until 7 or 8 pm. Was it only the first day that was messed up? In the old days when something like that happened they would open the bar up- I guess they don't do anything for "inconvenience" anymore. Started cruising in 1978- sure is different now!

Scyl Posted November 16, 2018 #22 Share Posted November 16, 2018 Having been in charge of passing informations to people, I am very sure no one lied on purpose. There is no way for anyone, even the people working on the repair to know how long it will take, everyone is making best estimates and can only tell you what they are told. Seem like the biggest problem you had was having to wait 3 hours, so not the end of the world.

Not good faith statements that later prove to be untrue. Edited November 16, 2018 by broberts
