80's night on Carnival Sunshine

I asked this on another forum  but haven't received a response so I'm trying this forum.  We are cruising on the Carnival Sunshine January 12, and thought I'd read that there will be an 80's night.  I think it's a great idea. but am wondering if a lot of people dress up.  Don't want to cram anymore in our suitcases as they are going to be pretty full already.  If only a few dress, we'd be less inclined to bring our outfits.  Thanks for any responses.

I just came off the Imagination and we had an 80's nite. I didnt see anyone dressed.

No one dressed up on ours.  But it was loads of fun!!

I remember the house band and the cruise director were dressed up, but don't recall seeing any passengers dressed in 80's outfits.

I got tshirts for the 80s night on our upcoming cruise that we can wear other times, too. "Frankie Says Relax" and "Save Ferris." It didn't take up any extra room to pack these and we can wear them to the pool or wherever so they are a functioning part of our wardrobe that will make 80s night a little more fun and silly for us. 🙂

actually, i'd bet a good 80's dress up  night would be more fun than formal night. Tie between magnum pi or miami vice get-up.

I bet more ppl would dress up if Carnival sent out an email explaining theme nights before cruises. I'd totally pack some kind of getup if I knew in advance.
