Eurodam or N. Amsterdam to Mexico

Hi, 

Newby here trying to decide between Eurodam and N. Amsterdam out of San Diego. These ships have identical Mexican Riviera iteneraries. One leaves on Saturday and the other leaves Sunday? Any opinions on which ship to choose or does it really not matter?

The ships are twins so no difference other than some decor modifications.

We prefer the Nieuw Amsterdam over the Europe -- like her decor better.

 

One thing -- do try the Tamarind Restaurant.

Both Ships are our favorites and either one would be wonderful!! We have sailed both from our home town San Diego as well as both in Europe for our Med cruises. IMO

you can not go wrong with either! Just choose your day! NA is newer we did her inaugural out of Venice in 2010. That is the only difference IMO.

Agree with KK about Tamarind. We just got off NA a week ago and my one regret was not eating at Tamarind twice. The meal and service were outstanding. We loved the ship so much we booked her again next year under the welcome home promo and $25 deposit sale.

Slight decor preference for the NA over the Eurodam - have done both and just on the Eurodam for the Mexican Riviera - great itinerary as always.

 

Check out to see who will be in port with you at various stops -the fewer the better as far as I am concerned,  so the Sunday departure might be the better choice since other ships maybe more likely start the same itinerary on Saturdays. San Diego port has backed up badly in the past when they have to handle more than one ship on departure day.

On the contrary, Sundays from late-March through April this year (and October 20th with Oosterdam) have the Disney Wonder in port.

 

A better choice would any Saturday departure.
