Private Round trip to Rome

We're looking for Travelers to join us for round trip transportation to Rome (Vatican City) on June 4.

It's a turnover day so "O" tours are problematic.

Once in Rome you'll be on your own. This is likely best if you have been here before and have specific sites to visit and a grip on Rome Public Transportation.

We plan on a 7:30AM departure and return to Insignia nlt 5:30PM.  Travel time is ~1hr,30min each way so that provides about 7 hours there.

We're not hard over on the time frame, that's negotiable.

WELCOME TO the Oceania Board!

The Moderators of this Website have established a Cruise-Specific area, commonly called the Roll Calls, wherein passengers who are booked on a particular voyage are encouraged to network.

These Roll Calls are segregated, first by Cruise Line, then by the Ship, and finally by the sailing date.

To find your specific Roll Call, first go to the Oceania Roll Call Board:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=420

Choose your vessel, and then search for your embarkation date.

There, you will be dealing only with those Passengers who will literally be “in the same boat”, so you will have a much better chance of connecting with someone...

Enjoy your cruise, and every minute of the planning-

Getting there IS half the fun!

If you're on the current world cruise on Insignia, there is both a roll call thread and a Live From thread where you should post this so others can see it. Best wishes...we're doing the same thing...got a private driver to and from Rome and will tour on our own.

Hello, Go-Bucks .Rome is like Miami, estimated travel time depends on perfection. Too bad nothing is perfect. We have driven Civitavecchia-Rome in both directions many time. It usually took longer than planned. The traffic in Rome resembles Bangkok. When in Rome, you know, even if you miss the ship, you are in Rome.

We're not worried about time...we're in port from 6am to 7pm. We've both been to Rome before and only have a few places we want to go. The rest of the time we'll wing it. We've used this private driving company before and they're very reliable.

It's really easy to take the train into Rome from Civitavecchia and there's even a BIRG ticket costing €12, which covers travel to and from Rome, and also gives you unlimited use of buses, metro, and trams (streetcars) for the entire day in Rome.

In addition, while trains in Italy have their own issues, they do avoid the predictable rush hour traffic nightmare in Rome.
