Port Access Barcelona

Hello Everyone. I have tried searching the board for an answer to this question. We are doing a TA in October on the Pearl. One of our ports is Barcelona. I have found a tour that begins at 9:30 a.m. and i am trying to figure out if the scheduled 8:00 am arrival in port will allow us time to get off the ship and make it the 3 km to the starting point of the tour? Also, does anyone know if taxi’s are readily available at the port? Will being in a suite be of any advantage in getting off faster? Thank you for any advice.

Taxis are readily available at the port, and public trans is also easy to use. The Rick Steves Mediterranean cruise ports book has some great info to help you get around Barcelona. Highly recommend.

I cant help too much with the disembarkation times. I don’t remember how long it took us. We usually booked a private tour where the guide would meet us at the dock, so we didn’t lose time figuring out where we were going. We didn’t do this for Barcelona though, because it was so easy to get around on our own.

Being in a suite, the concierge will escort you off of the ship in every port ahead of other passengers.  Typically, the concierge will provide you with a meeting place at a specific time on the day before arrival.  Last year, that meeting place was just outside of the Haven elevators.  Assuming that the arrival is on time,  you could easily be on the ground and running by 815a.

You’ll have to take a cab. It is a bit of a drive to get over the bridge and out of the port, before you continue your journey to the tour. Make sure you have small denomination Euros.
