Amy G Posted March 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2019 Anyone just off the Royal in San Pedro? I was wondering if anyone took a picture of the disembarkation schedule. If so, I would love to see a picture. Thanks!
san diego sue Posted March 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2019 We just got off the Royal yesterday. First offs(walkoff's were to start about 7 am. Actual time off was 8:10am. The delay by Customs. Last off was to happen at 10:30am. We were called for walk off about 7:15. Apparently it was premature. So we were lined up at the exit till we were released by Customs. Apparently on all cruises, three passengers are selected randomly for total check of all their luggage. A person that was selected had four bags and they couldn't find the fourth bag. Delay was caused until this happened.Once this happened , the ship passengers were released for exiting ship. So if you are counting on a specific time to exit, one never knows an exact time. paul929207 Posted March 31, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2019 The times listed on the debarkation scheduled are when you go to the specified location. They are not when you are scheduled to get off

1emerald1 Posted March 31, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2019 I have always disembarked promptly in San Pedro, with one exception. The dogs found drugs in a suitcase, turns out it was a musician on board, and we did not start disembarking until 11:00.
san diego sue Posted March 31, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2019 Correct that is the time you report. however, we were sitting there a very short time in the elite lounge (notified first before the assigned lounge you are going to report to as per the disembarkation form)when we were actually called. Was unfortunate that it was premature and we lined up and then not allowed to exit. The line became huge. We always arrive a bit earlier than the report time since we go to the Elite waiting lounge. On many occassions we have been called either early or at the assigned time. The big delays are usually when the ship is arriving from Europe or South America. So although the posters above are correct , in instances we do leave earlier. I have been on ships on back to back when we have heard announcements at 9:30am, that all can disembark as they were running early(wanted those 10:30people off the ship). A person that was selected had four bags and they couldn't find the fourth bag. They held up the entire disembarkation for this? That seems totally unnecessary. I get making that person wait but not everyone. We were randomly selected at Port Everglades. Our cards just beeped when scanned to disembark (a warning to check their lists). We didn't have to get off first and they weren't checking or even searching for bags until the randomly selected passengers disembarked at their scheduled times. They took our passports and global entry cards and we were escorted past the very long and backed up lines and to a separate room. We waited maybe 5 minutes while the agent in the room finished meticulously going through the bags from another random. When finished with that person she looked at our global entry cards without even glancing at our passports and said "lets just stick your bags through the scanner" and within 30 seconds we were on our way - I don't think she even scanned them all. It worked out in our favor as we bypassed all the very long lines and we definitely made it through faster than we otherwise would've. This method didn't inconvenience or slow down anyone, not even those who had their things thoroughly checked since they also bypassed the long lines. It's too bad to hear that the random inspections aren't always done in such an undisruptive manner.
san diego sue Posted April 1, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 1, 2019 Apparently it is done differently in San Pedro. The crew member said these people were randomly selected before anyone was allowed to get off the ship. I didn't know this was something that happens.
