Free Premier Down Under cruise offer

Just got an offer in the mail from Carnival Players Club for up to a free balcony and free drinks for 2 on a Premier Australian cruise on the Spirit.  The flyer gave 6 dates, ranging from 8 to 12 day cruises from Sydney.   While receiving many past Premier offers - and this also gives precruise and welcome gift, parties, treats delivered to room, goodbye goody bag - I have never gotten one for Australia.  While we would have to pay for a third person (we cruise with dd30 who is special needs) and air for all of us,  Australia has always been on my bucket list, and this is tempting.    I might call this week (flyer says can only call M-F between 12 to 4 pm ET) just to see how this works.  Has anyone else received or gone on one of these premier Australia cruises?

Haven't checked air out yet - but would probably stop somewhere midway ( Hawaii) for a few days, then on to Sydney.  Might help with air price a bit.   I was more interested in if anyone on this board had gotten this offer.  The prices on the flyer are in Australian dollars.  Just seems wierd to me that they would send me an offer like this.

I've also gotten a few Australia premier cruise offers this year - free balcony and 2000 Australian dollars in casino play. I'd love to, but after our transatlantic/land vacation combo we just returned from, an Elite cruise to Alaska, and some other cruises this year, I just couldn't swing it with the airfare. Hoping they offer some next year!

I know nothing about these premier Australia cruises, but I do know a lot about Australia having visited there several times as a  tourist and having lived there for a few years as well.  If I got an offer for a free cruise around Australia in a balcony stateroom and all I had to pay for was the airfare (and a 3rd person), I would be ALL over that.  Not knowing the dates of this offer (but assuming it will  be in the Australian spring and summer months), it looks like you could get RT airfare from NYC for less than $1000 per person.  That's a very good fare!

You'll have to do the math yourself, but I would guess that a stopover in Hawaii will add somewhat, if not significantly, to the cost of the airfare.  And having taken this flight from the U.S. East Coast a number of times, I think it's often best just to fly the whole way at one time.  (Not saying a few days in Hawaii wouldn't be great, but if it's a budget-buster, then it's fine to fly without a stopover.)

While a free cruise would be wonderful, some of the best parts of Australia are not off the coast.  So, I'd recommend, if it is financially feasible, to add time before or after the cruise to see some other parts of Australia or even to spend more time just in Sydney.  You could easily spend several days there and not get bored!
