Gratuities - More 'fairer' way to tip specialty dining staff?

Hi;

 

I don't have issues with recommended gratuities - However, if we are going to dine in specialty restaurants for half of our cruise, is there a more fairer way to tip the specialty dining staff?  

 

To tip the specialty dining staff more equitably, should we tip them similar to what we would tip at a regular 'high-end' restaurant?

There is a gratuity built in to the cost of the specialty restaurants. You can certainly tip extra in cash or to your sail and sign at the end of the meal. Tip what you feel is appropriate to your service.

As Bookbug53 said, the gratuity is built into the cost of the specialty restaurants. I've never felt the need to tip extra, but if you want to, there is space on the bill you get at the end of your meal to add an additional tip.

To add to the previous replies, the gratuity is built into the upcharge, so you are already treating the staff equitably. However, you can always tip more, which we always do when we eat in a speciality restaurant.

We always leave an extra cash tip. We also tip bartenders and room stewards and others cash as well.
