Mediterranean Odyssey - more active excursions, no bus tours

So I've already made a list of excursions that I think will be interesting.  But my partner is very interested in doing ones that are more active than a bus tour.  There is one optional tour that's a bike ride that I might suggest.  There are a few walking tours, city wall, etc.  I'm just trying to get us away from the bus tours that can be low energy.  He didn't enjoy our last Viking trip because of too many bus tours and we are trying to avoid them next time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

WINTER IN CASSIS & CALANQES The Calanqes National park boat ride was great. Cassis is a beautiful seaside town.  Not much exercise.
GARDENS MONTE CARLO great picturesque overlooks, tour of gardens and then walk downhill thru town, visiting the Casino, etc.  At the end go back to the ship, eat lunch and then on your own walk back uphill in a totally different path to the Palace, public gardens and Cousteau Aquarium.  You'll be walked out after these.
RENAISSANCE TREASURES FLORENCE Pricey but superb. Uffizi Museum alone would be worth it. Artwork was amazing & I'm not an artsy guy. Academia Museum with David statue. GREAT lunch in a wedding venue. Walking tour of city.
PICTURESQUE OSTIA Since we'd done Rome and didn't want another long bus ride we bussed to tour the ruins of Ostia, former port of Rome for the Romans.  Good walking exercize.
POMPEII we'd been so we booked ANCIENT HERCULANEUM but weather caused us to miss all Naples tours. These 2 tours have lots of walking, especially Pompeii.  Uneven surfaces. Not a problem for active people.
PANORAMIC DUBROVNIK RIVIERA & CABLE CAR Starts with visit to beautiful seaside Cavtat a nice walk and coffee by the sea, then up the cable car for amazing vistas of Dub. Later took the included Dub city walking tour in the afternoon to complete the experience. Great tour.
I'd recommend finding time to walk the wall for a great view and good workout.
CETINA RIVER CRUISE & SPLIT WALKING TOUR River boat ride was fun and scenic. Then a great snack at a riverfront restaurant. Back to Split for a walking tour, the only exercise.  Well over a quarter mile back to the ship.

Many thanks, Philw1776, for those great ideas.  We also have already been to a number of ports on this cruise, so it's nice to have alternatives.

So, along the lines of finding more active excursions...has anyone done the Corfu Mt. Pantokrator hike & Old Perithia?

That sounds like it could be a good, active day.  Just wondering about how long the hike is? The longer & more strenuous, the better for me! 🙂

Try writing to the folks at tellus@vikingcruises.com and ask them specifically what the timing is for the various components of this tour.
