We’re booked on our first Celebrity B2B on Summit out of San Juan in November.  I’m curious how check in works.  We have 2 separate reservations in the same cabin.  Do we get a sea pass card good for both cruises at first check in or do we have to check in again for the second one?  Any info or advice is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

You will have a B2B meeting just  prior to the end of the first cruise and it will tell you all you know.

Each cruise is a separate event and all charges are zeroed out at the end of each cruise.   When you check in for your first cruise you will get the SeaPass for that cruise only.   At completion of the first cruise on turn around day you will have two alternatives.   1.  Leave on your own before a certain time and your original sea pass will be taken from you and you willl have a "Transit Pass".   When you return to the port you will go to a special desk and pick up your new SeaPass.

2.   You meet at a specific time with other B2B's and will generally be escorted off the ship in mass.   After they Zero out the cruise you will be given your new SeaPass and escorted back aboard prior to general boarding.

Near the end of the first cruise you will receive a packet with instructions for the turnaround procedure.  They usually invite all the B2B passengers to a meeting where they will explain the procedure for your particular turnaround day.

When there are a lot of B2B passengers, they may offer special excursion options for them that day.

You each receive a transit pass, which enables you to come and go freely throughout the day as you wish, so if you leave the ship, when you return you don't need to wait in line with the new passengers who are checking in.

If you choose to remain on the ship that day, they typically have all the B2B passengers meet in the forward observation lounge, at the front of deck 11 on the turnaround day.   (Usually sometime around 9:15 to 9:45 am - -  they make an announcement when they want you to go there.)

After all the passengers who are leaving have departed, the officials come on board and process the B2B passengers right there in the lounge, so you don't need to leave the ship at all, (unless you want to do so).

They will give you your new seapass card for the next cruise right there in the lounge.

Essentially, you "ding" out with your old seapass card and then "ding" back in with the new one and get your picture taken.

If you choose to leave the ship that day instead of staying on board, you leave with the departing passengers,  "ding" out with your old card and then receive your new card later in the day when you return.

You will receive instructions on where to pick up your new card if you do that.

Just remember:  any remaining obc will be zeroed out if given as a perk (non-refundable).  So spend it or lose it!  This doesn't apply to refundable obc if given by your Travel Agent or as a gift from a friend.  If you don't claim it in cash at reception desk on-board the night prior to turn-around day, it will be credited to the credit card you use on the cruise.

Enjoy your cruise!

After the TAD process is completed and if you elect to stay on the ship you will have immediate access to your stateroom. The fire doors will be shut (not locked) so you can come and go as you please. All of our B2B cruises Celebrity has always had a lunch in the MDR for all consecutive cruises. You will receive an invitation for the lunch in your consecutive cruisers info. Concierge Class will also be in the MDR also having lunch.

The process as described by fleckle was exactly how it was done in January 2019.  One comment is that as soon as the border officials left the lounge, there was a mad rush to secure the new SeaPasses.  It would have been much better if Celebrity had organized this final process step in some way but they didn't.  My suggestion is to get there early to get a seat near the entry/exit door where they will have tables set up to dispense the new cards and the two podiums with scanners to take new photos and scan you aboard.  Otherwise, it could be quite a hassle and take some time to get through the line, unless they have greatly improved the procedure.
