Hi Bonnie, response from Azamara on the Cuba Cruises?

We are on the November 5th transatlantic which will be the first affected by the new Cuba rules. I would assume Azamara has been watching this topic avidly and had backup itineraries in place. Can you shed light on this please. Looks like lots of people on our cruise have already or are going to bail - the sooner a new itinerary can be posted to assure guests of it's worth it would be in the interest of Azamara to do so.

Me too, as we are also on the Nov. 5 crossing.  But I doubt if we will bail, as we are on this crossing in order to return to the States after our long stay in Europe.  But we have been excited about Havana and hope that AZ finds a way to go there, or substitutes something equally as fabulous.

Bonnie has posted the following elsewhere on the Forum :

 

"In response to the U.S. government’s policy change imposing immediate restrictions on cruise ship travel between the U.S. and Cuba, we are informing our guests and travel partners of revised itineraries for a limited number of sailings with Cuban port calls.

 

All 2019 sailings on the Azamara Journey will have alternative ports in the Caribbean, please visit www.azamara.com/cubaupdate for ongoing updates. 

 

Guests will have the option to re-book on any other Azamara voyage, in the same category, for the cruise fare paid or prevailing rate, whichever is more favorable to our guest. If the guests choose to book another sailing, other benefits and incentives will apply. If a guest chooses to cancel instead, a full refund for the amount paid will be processed to the original form of payment and compensation for travel changes will also be provided.

 

We are currently working with local port agents on alternative itineraries for 2020 sailings and will share those details with guests and travel partners as they become available. All booked guests and travel partners are being contacted personally to ensure the best possible solution is reached. We appreciate our guests’ patience and flexibility as we adjust to accommodate the new regulation."

We received a message from AZ, via our TA, that explained the changed itinerary of the Nov. 5 crossing.  Hopefully you others have received the same message.  We were offered options as to whether we wanted to hold our reservation, re-book on another cruise, or get a refund.  We chose to stick with our reservation, as we are returning from Europe and the crossing itinerary works for us.

Very happy with Azamara's offer for our "no Cuba" cruise for April 2020. 
Re-book on any other Azamara voyage, in the same category for the cruise fare paid or prevailing rate, whichever is more favorable. Also, you will receive a $500 onboard credit per standard stateroom or a $1,000 onboard credit for suites when you rebook on a new Azamara voyage. In addition, Azamara will reimburse with proper receipts, up to $500 per person for non-refundable Airfare/Hotel changes for domestic guests and $1,000 per person for non-refundable Airfare/Hotel changes for international guests.

If you choose to cancel, a full refund for amounts paid will be processed to the original form of payment however, you will not receive the other incentives described above.

WOW.  I think that is very generous for something completely out of their control

It seems a good offer but given our flight bookings we want to see what will tie into our already booked November and December flights plus hotel bookings
