Who has been on Explorer recently?

We just booked Explorer yesterday during the WOW sale.  We are cruising to Cozumel and Costa Maya in November.  I was last on Explorer in 2012.  Who has been on it recently and has tips/advice on the ship or ports?   I do have one question in particular - the RC website lists Giovanni’s, but the “explore this itinerary” has Jamie’s - which is it?  Thanks in advance!

I was on her in March and there was no Jamie’s then.

Was on last month and Giovanni's was there. They still had the scallops -- woo hoo!

So was Giovanni's good?   I was on Symphony in January and had an amazing lunch at Jamie's and was hoping to repeat the experience!

I'll be going on the Explorer for the 3rd time in November and have heard reports of the ship looking rough. 

 

However, it's a 9 night Southern Caribbean sailing so I'll be fine!

Was on Explorer two months ago, she has a little bit of 'wear and tear' here and there if you go looking for it, but nothing that is likely to spoil your vacation.

I agree!   As long as the food is good, the drinks are flowing, sun loungers are available, and there is live music then I am happy 😄.  We were on Symphony in January and Majesty in April so Explorer will be “in the middle”!

How about evening entrainment?  We are excited to visit Dizzy’s and the Schooner Bar is always a good time!

There is no Dizzy's on Explorer - only on Oasis class ships.  There is a lounge with lots of activities and music.  The ice skating show is excellent.

 

Everything I have ever had in Giovanni's has been excellent.  I especially love the shrimp entrée - DH loves the steak.  Almost all ships no longer have the scallops as a starter so I was happy to be able to still get them on Explorer.

 

Love this class of ship.

Dizzy's is a section of the Viking Crown area on Explorer.

 

You might be thinking of Dazzles, which is on Oasis class ships.
