Amount due on drink package

Hoping this is another Royal IT issue...

Booked a drink package for our Dec adventure cruise a few months ago and applied all of our $400 OBC for booking on board toward the purchase price.  Starting getting daily emails from Royal that we now owe $300 on the package and the emails specifically reference a $100 OBC.  Been traveling and now headed into a conference and not looking forward to spending my breaks on the phone getting this resolved.  Before I get started, curious if others think this is a straight up error by Royal or is something else going on?

Thanks

Did you call and get your cruise repriced or change cabins.  You may have got a better price in the cabin but lost the OBC.  In that case you need to pay the difference if you’ve used it already.  This happened to us for our upcoming Christmas cruise

Thanks for the quick reply.  We did switch cabins; same category but moved to a different location.  Was a very pleasant, quick conversation, took five or ten minutes tops. Confirmed that there were no changes to pricing but didn't specifically discuss OBC.  Do you think that could of 'cancelled' our onboard booking bonus, or just a re-pricing issue that need to be cleared up?

Thanks

I would bet that when you did that change some of the OBC dropped off your reservation.  (Unfortunately it is relatively commin)

You need to call to get it added back.  Have your original guest booking invoices handy.  They each have a number in the upper right corner.  You can tell them to look at guest booking invoice #xxx to see the $400 OBC.

Thanks so much!  Having a reason and plan in mind before the call will be very helpful!

Sounds like it’s an IT thing that should be fixed over the phone since you stayed within your cabin category but as others have said call and get it fixed before it drops from your ressie.

***This is more of an FYI to anyone that booked the glitch beverage package pricing.....

We caught a price drop after purchasing the $18 beverage package and we weren’t sure if we should take it because we didn’t want to lose the glitch pricing since it was partially purchased with OBC. I had the rep stay on the phone with me until the obc balance showed due back in the cruise planner and I had them take the payment then so there is no reason to not go for price drops outside of being on a call to Royal an extra 10 minutes to make sure the beverage package balance gets paid immediately.

If you don't have time to make the phone call right now while traveling, you could also just pay the amount online (to ensure the package doesn't get dropped for non-payment), and then call later to get the OBC added back to the reservation.  Then you can use the OBC to pay for gratuities or whatever on the ship.

That's why it's extremely important that when you change anything on your reservation, or call for a price drop, always ask about your onboard credit. Your new "lower priced" booking may eliminate any on-board credit you may have had, essentially, wiping out any savings on the new booking. Always ask about it.

Thanks for all the responses.  Tried to call during lunch break, but the stated hold time was longer than I had!

Emails give me a deadline of the 30th; didn't get the 'great' deal on the package but the price is now $4 more pp per day, so a solid ($64) incentive to get this straightened out.

All of the OBC was from Royal - bonus for booking a suite on board another cruise.  The $400 was available to use on the web site when I bought the package so pretty sure it was removed when I changed cabins.

Will know to focus on that next time before I get off the phone!

Cheers,

managed my time and got this taken care of today.

The odd part was that the Royal rep tried to say it was because some of the OBC was dedicated to my wife instead; very strange, but they got it fixed.  Stayed on the phone until I got confirmation.

Thanks for all the advice.
