Caribbean Princess - 3rd & 4th bed?

I am looking at the Caribbean Princess balcony cabin for 3 persons.

 

It shows balcony cabins for 3rd people that state “3rd & 4th - 1 rollaway bed permanently placed in cabin”.

 

Do they not have upper bunk beds in any of the cabins?

 

Do they take out the barrel chair by the balcony door to put the rollaway to sleep on?

 

When the rollaway is folded up, where is it placed in the cabin, - in front of desk, or refrigerator?  Not much room to move around?

Look for ones that hold 4 people.  Uppers are recessed in the ceiling.  Pretty sure about that.

In balcony cabins the 3rd is an upper berth that is stored in the ceiling. The 4th berth can be one stored in the ceiling or a roll away. The deck plans on the Princess web site should show which ones have the 2 upper berths and which one have the roll away.

In most cabins on the Caribbean the barrel chairs have been removed. We had to request one just last month.

Some cabins on the CB and other ships have a 3rd berth and/or 4th berth in the ceiling and some don't.

Some with the third berth will be supplemented for a 4th passenger with a rollaway instead of another berth in the ceiling.

Some are a double cabin with a rollaway.

Since you only have 3 then it could be either way, with a 3rd berth or a rollaway.

There is no way to tell ahead of time unless you choose a cabin in the deck plans that actually listed as a quad. That way you are assured that you can use a berth in the ceiling as the third.

We have been in a balcony on both Baja/Aloha decks that had a rollaway in it.

The folded up rollaway is stored behind the curtain on the stationary side of the balcony slider during the day.

IMO.......be advised when a rollaway is opened for the evening it is a major safety issue. It blocks the balcony door and make it almost impossible to move around.

The barrel chair remained pushed off to the side.

Last time, the 9 yr old only slept 2 nights in the upper bunk from the ceiling then slept with grandma in a single bed for the rest of the cruise.

 

If she does not want to sleep in the upper bunk, can we ask for a rollaway?

Yes you can ask Stewart.......

Rollaways are limited. Depends on demand for that cruise.

Remember the cabin may not have an extra berth and the rollaway may be the only option.

Our cabin on the Emerald Deck on Caribbean Princess (obstructed view) had two Pullman beds that would extend down from the ceiling if used. (We did not use them, it was just the two of us.) There were ladders stowed in the closet that would be used to climb up to the beds. Theoretically, our cabin could accommodate four. As it was, even when retracted they were in my way all the time.

That is because on Caribbean in inside and OV cabins, the bunks are on the side walls and NOT in the ceiling.  EM
