riffatsea Posted October 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Just wondering how a person working for Princess as a "cruise specialist" could be of help booking excursions?? I usually either book myself on line or plan independent tours. Why would I need help doing this if you can easily book Princess tours on your own?? Do they have access to more private tours than what is offered on line?? Has anyone found a good reason to use this service offered by Princess??? Thanks for any thoughts
Katwoman007 Posted October 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2019 I work with a vacation planner through Princess. I have not seen a "cruise specialist" email. I have never seen anything on the ship that was not online before sail for booking excursions.
Mike45LC Posted October 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Riff, my wife is a casino guest, and sometimes gets calls or emails from a Vacation Planner or "cruise specialist." This is just a normal marketing/upselling effort by Princess disguised as a concierge-style service, a "we are taking very good care of you" type of thing. Generally (I am not talking about any discounts we get from the casino, OBC, etc.), we get no benefit from it, except for the ego-boost benefit that women get from shopping in fancy department stores with "personal shoppers" and other "kiss my ring" type kowtowing. The excursions are the same, the prices are the same. It is just a way to make the shopper/passenger feel special and loved. Princess is expert at this, as are all the high-end stores! skynight Posted October 16, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Normal marketing and sales. However, if you want to pre-book an excursion for two or more using OBC and one has all the OBC with the other not enough then you have to call Princess to arrange.
