Janet524 Posted October 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2019 My husband has recently begun using a mobility scooter to get around. We will be in St. Martin in November andI would like to know if the ferry from the cruise port to downtown can accommodate boarding with a scooter. Any information will be appreciated. kokopelli-az Posted October 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2019 Are you talking about the water taxi? If so, there are steps getting into it. Some have reported success in having the water taxi crew lift their scooter into the water taxi. Take a look at these two links: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2305317-water-taxi-in-st-maarten-accessible/ https://www.accessiblecaribbeanvacations.com/st-maarten-disabled-access
sanspike Posted October 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2019 I use a manual wheelchair and it was very easy and the staff was very helpful.
mets123 Posted October 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2019 It can be done on the larger ferries but not the smaller ones. You may have to wait one of two ferries until a larger one comes along.
